Sc0tty,

You really should go back and edit the post that has pricing in it. The problem is that all that nice margin you were speaking of is now 'public' information and will be used againist other dealers, if not yourself, by consumers. Wire and cable usually has a decent margin on it but any kind of dealer pricing should NEVER be published in a open forum on the internet. You may have unwittingly violated your dealer agreement and at the same time you have opened up a area of negotiation with clients of many other Monster dealers. Any consumers that see that pricing will now want a discount on that product and will feel as if you are 'screwing' them by charging MSRP. I am not a m0nster dealer so it doesnt affect me but it may affect others. Please do the right thing and edit your post.

Done. $659 is the sale price for product at CC, thus I see no reason for removing this, but I do applogize if I offended someone. The cost number was not line itemed out thus not true cost, but I do see your point, and have editted the previous post. TY for your concern!

I particularly think that they have some decent stuff. But you can purchase another brand that is just as good if not better for alot less.

If you want some complaints on them, there video 2 cables tear off rca grounds b/c they lock on with there patented turbine lock. They say if you turn it clockwise while you pull it comes off easier but this is not the case and if your trying to plug them in when access is tight, good luck. Also their speaker wire is an absolute pain to strip. Not an installer friendly product and not very friendly to a consumers bank account.

My advice is sale it if someone asks for it. Just dont push it on people like the big box stores do. The more that people feel like they got a good deal, the more refferals and repeat business youll get.

Ditto. Id have to look at my costs again, but I dont think there anywhere near that.

So, for those who spec other brands, what do you use for QUALITY brands?
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

I think the problem with monster is the people who sell $50 subwoofer cable to hook up packaged surround sound systems with 5 pound subwoofers. And you go into circuit city and you ask them for a cable and they steer you over to the monster cable stuff, and you tell them it's just for hooking up the audio coming out of the cable box to the TV and they try to sell you a $40 6 foot cable.

I use Monster all the time. It is what most people recognize and want. I used to use IXOS as well but the name recognition of "Monster" beat it all the time so now it is either Monster or NXG for the small setups..

I disagree, they want "Monster cable" as a generic term. not specifically "Monster" brand cable.
Can't knock the marketing though.

If Monster and Bose ever got together, god help us!

Tara Labs, MIT, Nordost, Tributaries, Shunyata (we've since dropped some of those, but it's not a bad list...)
