Echo, it should no big deal really to share sources.
Just make sure you use the digital connections
from DVD/CD players to the main receiver, and
analog connections to the secondary receiver.
On devices that only have analog audio outputs,
be sure to use something like the Tributaries
"buffered Y". Some components you can get away
without using them, but some cause the signal
to be distorted when using regular "Y" connections.

I have found that when using digital outputs to the main zone and analogue outputs to the secondary zones that there can be timing issues from main to secondary. If there is a possibility of of adjacent rooms sounds being heard in the main room or vice versa, things can sound sort of strange. Of course, if the rooms are isolated there would be no problem.
