I hate to bad mouth Xantech all the time, (but i still have some respect for them) But does anyone else out there have the same sort of issues with Xantech MRC88 than just me?
we have several clients with MRC88 and it seems the constantly have to be resetting there product. and no doubt they all seem to get quite S***y about it.
Is it just me or is this a problem?

Have not had any major issues yet. Maybe we have not installed enough of them yet.

Well, I have been waiting to post my opinion in an attempt to settle down and not say anything irrational. Here have been my experiences to date. Our first order of product took almost 8 weeks longer to get together than it was supposed to. Even when it did come together I had to obtain the keypads from 3 different sources, one of which was another dealer who kept getting repeat shipments and had an extra. 3 weeks after the installation was complete the MRC88 blew up and needed to be replaced. Due to the fact that there was a 3 weeks backlog for a new unit I accepted a refurb to get my client up and running. The unit was supposed to ship out on the 13th after it had been tested and loaded up with new firm ware. The unit finally shipped out on the 15th and came 2nd day so it could be installed in my clients home yesterday. Well, the unit is now installed but requires another service trip as it was not set up correctly when it was being "checked" by Xantech. Also, one of the keypads that I created a miracle to get is also DOA. What I haven't mentioned is the extensive amount of time that has been spent on hold to try to reach the Tech Support department. 2 times these calls have been made while at the clients home while trying to troubleshoot the two bad systems and in both occasions return phone calls were received hours after we left the clients home. If I am having this hard of a time with a simple system I can only imagine the issues that will arise when I try to program the 2 SPLCD panels that I have. The last thing, and I find this to be really funny, I call to speak with the National Sales Mgr. as I have spoken with him recently and needed some additional info. The lady that answers the phone asks me, "do you know his extension?"! If you don't know how to get to your NSM you shouldn't answer the phone IMO.

I realize that my situation may be an isolated incident and it is possible they may provide good service but if anyone wants to share their experiences with me off of the board I would appreciate it as we were looking to install quite a bit of the gear in our showroom but I am questioning if that is the right thing to do at this time.
with all do respect... i had no idea that you had an experimental surgery to have your balls removed.

We have been using the MRC88 with the SPLCD Touch Panels in our system designs and so far so good. No problems or complaints. I had issues with Touchpanels locking up but after performing firmware upgrade there were no more issues.
Good Luck.

I’ve been installing MRC88 since it was available and so far I have no problems with the unit itself except when some features does not work the way it suppose to work and when they upgrade the firmware it looks like those problems are fixed.
I know that sometimes it’s hard to get thru the tech support however I like to know which company’s tech support is better you always have to be on hold some more some less time.

Verify that you have the latest firmware 1.41 and you should be OK.

Good Luck.

Does anybody know how to implement the Doorbell/paging feature? I can't find it in the Manual and according to the specs the System is compatible with this feature.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

i have an issue with a xantech mraudio88. after installation (8 zones, with 4 of the zones splitted), only 6 zones responded. Also, i could not download my programme unto the base unit. I keep getting the message "unexpected error during download"
I shut down the controller. The unfortunate thing was that when i put the system back on, none of the keypad work. I checked the power supply, it was ok. The keypad only displays a number 2.25.
I dont know what this mean. I dont want to believe that the controller is spoilt because I can still use the controller to control the sources connected to the controller. Can you please advise me on what to do.

I will appreciate your quick response to this mail because I have to deliver this unit as soon as possible.

Thanks.
Akeem
