I'd have never imagined you were a Walmart shopper........
We hit walmart for cleaning supplies, trash bags, disposable cutlery, charcoal, batteries etc. Basically any sort of throw away/landfill stuff and housewares. You cant beat pricing unless you want to move to sams or costco. I dont like those places because the quantity is larger than i buy at one time and selection is limited so i end up going to 2 places etc. For now its easier to shop at walmart. If i ever find myself with a family and a larger house this might change.
That pic was taking while picking up apx $1200 worth of "new apartment" junk for my girlfriend. Pots pans glassware etc. Probably spend $2000 at walmart if you total up all the receipts from the move. I would love to go down to bobs family store and spend the $2000 but walmart crushed the small stores. I wont pay an extra $1 to go shop at target or another $10 a crate and barrel and pretend their stuff isn't also coming from China.
Politicians, like the ones busting unions in wisconsin right now, are why walmart exists. Until people start voting the right people in office we dont have any other choice but to shop at walmart.
Groceries are 90% Jewel (albertsons in some states) and 10% walmart. Jewel has fresh produce, they are 5 minutes away and pricing is fair. Walmart grocery shopping is usually meat and frozen vegetables. Purdue Chicken Breasts are about 1/3 less compared to jewel and the closest walmart carries a specific cut of sandwich steak that you cant get anywhere else without a trip to Chicago.
We buy clothes/shoes/watches/handbags/wallets/coats/luggage etc at the mall and pay retail. This is because i want specific brands and the mall is the only place that will have what i want in my size every time so i don't experiment much with online shopping for this stuff.
Electronics were 100% best buy until about 2 years ago when i started buying things from Amazon because of free shipping with a prime account. TV's usually still come from BestBuy. Better pricing than our distributors but you guys already know that :). Now its about 50-50% between best buy and amazon.
Furniture typically comes from Ikea or a furniture stores like the Harlem Room Place.
