I know the info is slim, Jay. I've only walked it with the landscape designer and not the homeowner, so I was just looking for ideas. I've only done rocks or planters to this point.
Two 100 foot plus paths wind thru the trees and are dirt all around. Some hillside stuff. It's early yet to pin things down but what you've all given me is some ideas that I've given to the designer so we have somewhere to start from.

If you can tuck some black Mariner's (100's ok - 200's great! - 300's... just awsome) by Sonance into dark nooks and corners trees... You can get some great sound without the rock placement issues..
Have fun.. Outside is always fun.
I've seen these survive the most unlikely situations...
