Then we would need to set up a listening position
on a crane.

Actually, the vaccuum of space would be a complete barrier against even the best planar's sound output, and even the deepest bass.

How about attaching a voice coil to a trampoline?

Yeah but how do we get a low level input into a 100 KVA transformer to power it?

Or maybe plant some of these:

Don't forget to water them daily.

"Skeptics say the sound may not be comparable to conventional speakers but perhaps someone could write a sound software tailored to the flowers to compensate for that"

Hmmm.

Bose has been trying to do that for years!

I think we better stick with the trampoline idea.

And some 1"x6"x6' mid/tweeter arrays that look like a standard privacy fence!

So, what's wrong with the rock speaker idea? I know they really don't look like rocks or speakers but why not just keep the geologists and audiophiles guessing?

I thought I saw some at a zoo but they were really squishy. I can't say I really heard them but they smelled loud. If your nose feels it, what frequency is that?
Manuals?! We don't need no stinking manuals! a.. er..

Probably between 14 and 16K.
I'm not sure when "smell" kicks in. :-)

Actually, the frogs and rocks don't sound too bad for backround music. Not to great for a 'front stage' sound in my opinion.

But then, not everybody has EV's hanging from they're soffits!

You guys supplied some outstanding options. I've got to see what the landscape designer says next.

Thanks to everyone who took the time.

Oh, and the flowers are so special.

On a related topic, I suppose they'll want some control outdoors. Besides the basic volume control here and there, have you had any unique control systems put in place for the combination of walkways, patios and pool?

I know, pretty tall order.

Would a Xantech Waterpad meet your needs?

Yes, the flowers are special and no, I wasn't seriously suggesting them. Too bad they cannot reproduce sound accurately.

That brings us back to Bose! :-)

What kind of control were you thinking of!

Something other than a volume control?

Or a waterpad?

Or are you thinking more along the lines of a "show"?

I have the solution. Ergonomic, wind powered, automatic on/off, cheap, and has a random music generator.

I will ship some to you for only $199.99 a pair (plus tax, shipping and birthday money).

My first question would have to be... where are the walkways located?

are they through a forest on dirt?

lined with brick?

Rose gardens?

Grass?

What is the setting? A combination?

I wouldn't assume 8 ohms yet either.

Without an accurate description of the setting and possible mounting locations, it's all a stab in the dark!?

Just because you don't like the green mushrooms, doesn't mean they aren't the best solution. What about brown mushrooms?

You're not giving enough information.

Just don't use cheap cheap speakers.. If you do, let them know the warranty's over when the warranty's over. How many $50 speakers do they want to replace every other summer?

Rockustics = quality and so on
Jet Rack ... It's what's for breakfast
