The HTPS7000 is a spectacular piece... It does a great job with the filtering and cleaning of the power, and with the surge protection (knock on wood).
That said, the "signature series" is pure snake oil... Absolutely no reason to step up from the regular...
Whether you have a power surge or not, you will probably have to replace the Monster within a year or two. I have never seen one that didn't have to be replaced within a short time. It's the same as other Monster products--smoke and mirrors. In this case, mostly smoke.
