I will never own a vehicle that includes this as a standard option.

I thought at first it was a made up site, but frighteningly enough, it's for real! :-0
It's not bad enough that we have to suffer and hear their great amps(NOT) in clients homes before we are able to educate them, now I have to worry about their over rated amps keeping my car moving in the right direction? I refused to buy a Nissan Armada because they have Blose in it.

I will never own a vehicle that OFFERS Blose suspension!!

Hmmm....I wonder if it will include a set of 'noise cancelling' headphones for your bottom?

Well, if we have to put up with their inferior performing audio products, maybe the improved handling of my next car will cancel that out. I guess I see the glass as half full.

These cars use the BOSE marketing system as well. Before you test drive the car, They put you in a Chair sitting on a Shaker Table for 30 minutes. You must then sign a waiver that states you will not drive any car without BOSE suspension for at least 12 hours.

This way they are able to control the BOSE experience so that it maximizes your enjoyment. (Or at least keeps you from comparing the BOSE suspension to other vehicles.)

If they do the same job with suspension as they do with their speakers, Then I would suspect they will have a winner!
No highs, no lows......
No bumps, No bangs, just that "in the middle feel."

Read the white paper on the suspension. I states that the vehicle uses a modified Macpherson strut in the front and double wish bones in the rear with torsion bar for springs all around (springs are what holds the car off the ground, but if you noticed they need to use torsion bars because the coil spring would be too large in diameter to fit over the shock). Most newer vehicles are typically using double wish bone suspension arms with coild springs on all four corners.

The only active suspension systems that worked are the ones that were developed during the active suspension days of F1 by the F1 teams and the suppliers for the F1 teams. Bose was not one of them.

In addition, how many new vehicles do you know use torsion bars for springs? None that I know of.

By the way, avgenius1 what were you doing on the Bose web site?

Just like their speaker technologies, they weren't the first to create something new, just the ones to come in a wrap a massive legal blanket over it with their ON STAFF patent attys. and then re-market the technology as Bose Patented technology.

If you go to the online registry for the patent office, you can search the patents back to the 70's.
Bose has patented ideas expressed at AES meetings and/or brought to market AFTER the fact.

Mac people say that if Steve Jobs had just hired better patent attys., then Bill Gates wouldn't be where he is. In that arena, I think Dr. B deserves at least an honorable mention.

No, but perhaps spark plug wire sets! I can see it now.... plug boots that are gold-flake embossed, wires that are silver mesh screen covered - sold in some packaging that costs way too much to mold and has the words "Monster Spark 3" extruded in the plastic! ;)

We sell speakers and suspension systems. I wonder if AVAD will carry them? :-)

Oh man I just had a vision of some crazy car show where some car fi guru has modified one of these systems to make the car dance to the music. Or perhaps the whole car could be subwoofer. Maybe someday they will actually make a big budget speed racer the movie, where in the mach 5 uses the bose suspension to jump over the bad guys. This is all just to strange, next we will be seeing bose electromagnetic sewing machines and weed whackers.

Guys, bose has already proven to us that they cannot produce high fidelity speakers.

That does not mean that they can't use, yes, something very much like the noise-cancelling technology to cancel "noise" (your car bouncing up and down) in the movement of a car. This product shows that Bose's approach works for a limited group of frequencies. In a car suspension, that is okay and to be expected. In speakers, they also have a product that works for a limited group of frequencies; it's just that my ears, even at my age, hear several more octaves than a car's vibrations will ever be.

In other words, this product might actually work.

As for those patents back to the seventies, could you give us some examples? I am always a bit leery of people who talk about "lots of" something but never cite a single example. The point is made without proof, and few people will do the research to see if the proof exists. So I'd like a couple of real patent citations before I will admit that one more time, in one more technology, Bose is just totally full of crap.

They ARE when it comes to loudspeakers, but maybe they have something here!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
