Makes you wonder what they honk to make all the potholes and rocks get out of the way.

Playing the PT Barnum game with sound is one thing. Bouncing into a tree will certainly be another. Fool me once..
Manuals?! We don't need no stinking manuals! a.. er..

Ernie

Now your sounding like Bill O'Reilly. So , I'm listening.

If this product actually does work, maybe they will get out of the "poor excuse for a speaker, amp system" and focus on something they might be able to do!!!!

My biggest concerne would be; If it's parked in a garage, and you 'turn it on', will it escalate into a three story 'car system' like there clock/radio?

...and will Paul Harvey be touting Bose automotive on AM radio, and will Herbie Hancock and be doing late night infomercials for Bose automotive??

I wasn't saying that this doesn't work, just that they aren't the ones that came up with this. They just have more juice than the fellows that did.
Speedvision, or maybe it was Car & Driver on Spike, had a segment on variable suspension that reacted instantaneously to bumps so they could ride smooth (low pressure) and the instant that shock travel indicating a bump occurs, pressurize that shock to a firmer mode before the shock throws a jolt into the chassis.

I want to drive like a Rally Champion, yet retain the ride of my father's old Lincoln... maybe someday.

with torsion bar for springs all around

As a CI, car guy and SCCA racer, I have heard of the Blose suspension system for a few months now. Not until reading the above quote have I realized how truly bad it will be.

For those of you who don't know, torsion bar suspensions are still in use in some heavy duty pickup trucks and full size, truck based SUVs. Thats it.

Wonder what they'll come up with next in the new technology department? Pushrod motors? Solid tires? Solid rear ends?

Aaaahhhh, Lifestyle Suspension.....

footnote - today I get to make a quick visit to a client's home who called and said "They installed a Bose surround system, and it just doesn't sound like I think a home theater should." Tough upgrade path for me to sell, though...all that money they have no doubt wasted...

Really???
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

By the way, avgenius1 what were you doing on the
Bose web site?

I actually got the link of of one of the car forums I frequent. I know, I know, I am cheating on the side by not spending all my time on here and IP. Sue me, I decided I needed to get a life for a few months. I will be back here full time really soon, just needed a break. Funny thing is I met a guy on that other site who is in the A/V industry. Small world.

I remember seeing something on DiscoveryHD, I think, about a similar type of suspension being developed by/ for military and industrial applications that used a conductive hydraulic oil. IIRC, the concept was the oil had been magnetized to say the North pole and the electrode could switch between North and South poles to either push the oil away, making for more ground clearance and tighter suspension or draw the oil near for softer suspension with lower ground clearance. I could have this concept completely backwards, so dont quote me on this.
As far as the Blose suspension, I will restate what I said in my initial post. I will NEVER drive a vehicle that is equipped with Blose suspension. Even if its the be all end all of performance/luxury, I have principles. If Munster decides to start making plug wires, I am sure they will be a big hit with the Fast and Furious crowd.
