In many cases, it's construed as collusion, which is illegal.
Julie: if it is collusion to discuss profit margins or salary in a public forum, how is discussing setting up a private forum to do it away from prying eyes any better? :-)

I must agree with Q. It does not bother me if Brijaws or avdude start posts about IP. I know a lot of members here are also members there, and it is not my place to police this place for Daniel (I think he could say something if it bothers him). But oex did not deserve to get shot down for calling a spade a spade. This post was an ad and nothing else. If we decide to allow it because we like the people or the site advertised that is a different story, if Daniel minds or does not mind, that is also a different story.

Brijaws:
Lighten up; this is the internet and all about FREE information
this coming from the guythat runs a site that asks for proof before registering :-)
If you really believe that then why don't you just post here the "secret" stuff you don't want others (potential customers) to read.
Your silly little whining about getting permission before I post a message is foolish.
I disagree, it is just being polite, it is Daniel's site and we are all guests.
Every time you talk about a product, you are advertising in one way or another. But I guess that’s different.
not really,
if you ask a question like "how do you get X to do Y" --- you do not
if you are talking about a problem " the X will not Y" --- you do not
if you are answering a question "I like X, it will fit your needs" --- you do not
if you come here and start a thread about something that you are involved in (like this thread)---- you do
