Have a MMS-3e when you go to the config page it just says please wait loading.

I did the reset, pull power, hold reset and power up and hold down for 30s and still the same.

I don’t know much about these servers, is there anything else that can be done to get it out of its startup ?

Many Thanks

I ended going through ORVc for setup I think. The last firmware might have made that a thing. I also could be covid wasted and not remember.

Seeing as I’m not a snap at dealer, and not in the USA I don’t think I can setup an account. Sadly my distributor in my country is saying snap av are not picking up the phone at all at the moment to them so thought I’d try my luck at asking here.

It seems to go through it’s system recovery when I do the factory reset but still gets stuck after it boots up so don’t know what else I can do at the moment.

I’ve been having support calls to Snap throughout this entire virus thing. They are definitely answering the phone. I think your seller might not be giving you the full story.

Thank you.

I emailed Snap yesterday but no response, as I am a dealer in the UK, but just trying to get support for one of their products.

I can only go by what my distributor says.

If anyone has any suggestions for getting this unit up and running I am all ears.

Are you able to view the UI page (without adding config at the end of the IP address)? Have you tried a different web browser and/or cleared the cache on your browser?

Yes I can, however

it first doesn't say it can find a server, then shows the IP address of the unit. When I click ok, I get a kind of interface, but nothing is operable, no zones, no browsing of any sources etc.

I'm imagining something is up with the disk image or something similar and is not booting correctly, maybe a failed firmware update.

I opened the unit, not much inside, made sure all the connections were solid, I am hoping there is some kind of way of reloading the OS on it somehow, or getting a new part before I speak back to the client.

Haven't really done Autonomic, but knew our distributor did, so said I would take a look.

Now I'm confused.

A MMS3e doesnt have sources or zones. Its a music player. And if there is no music on the hard drive, then there wouldnt be anything to browse.

I am just saying what I see on the GUI, it shows a tab for sources and zones. Neither which is selectable, or at least nothing that happens when they are pressed, and as I can't select a source, I would presume I wouldn't be able to browse anything without selecting that source (media library one would assume) first.

I dumped an album into the music folder, and still nothing shows up, but I don't know if I have to force a scan or anything, but because I can't get into any of the settings it's a bit hard to do any of that.

Are you in the config pages or or Control gui?

MMS's auto scan.

What format was the music?

The fact that your in a web browser seems to indicate the OS is fine.

GUI page -

first says server not detected.

hit connect

show IP address of server, along with some different skins available.

I click select and go to a GUI page where transport and volume commands are at the bottom, left is some blank buttons, top right says tune bridge, sources and zones. Sources is greyed out, and the other two can be clicked but nothing happens.

Config page-

just shows "loading please wait bar", page refreshed constantly, and if I click on firmware or system, or any of the other tabs at the top error 404 page cannot be found.

Music, I put an album in FLAC.

Was the unit installed onto a different network before you started looking into it? If so was it set to a Static IP address? If you open command prompt and enter arp -a (including the space) does it show up in the list? Can you ping the device using the IP address you are connecting to?

What happens when you try and connect using the mac address as opposed to the IP [Link: MMS-XXXX.local] where xxxx are the last 4 characters of the MAC address?

Have you tried wiring your computer directly to the device and bypassing all the networking. If it's set to a static maybe you have something else on the network using the same IP address which will be causing issues.

You may want to try connecting a monitor to it. I've had them boot and work for a bit and then lock up.

Have you tried a telnet connection to it? If you type "autoupdate hotfix" (no quotes) and then enter, it will load the latest firmware. It may be a newer version than the latest official release.

Have you tried a different power supply?
