From what I’ve seen even if a end user has experience programming a remote, they usually don’t understand how to do it correctly.

We have a customer (a doctor) who is so proud of his Harmony program. It's a wreck. If I go there for some other reason, I'll use the native remotes and be very careful to log, then restore the current state of everything before I leave.

Thanks everyone for their comments. I found a dealer.

Yes, re-reading my original post, it did not construe everything that I was intending. I was trying to not write a novel and I still did. Oh well. My situation was, as I thought, best told through a conversation directly with a dealer. The dealer I spoke with, I told him my situation and he immediately understood and is willing to work with me.

Anyway, thanks again!

From what I’ve seen even if a end user has experience programming a remote, they usually don’t understand how to do it correctly. They usually just have it turned into an expensive all in one remote that requires multiple button presses to do a simple task and they have the interface jacked up because they think they need access to every command on the factory remote.

Back 15-20 years ago, when all the remote company's software was free and available to everyone, this website you are on right now was filled with DIY'ers uploading templates and graphics they made.
Professionals came here to download a lot of these graphics & templates, because it was much better than what they could do or had time to do.

Yes, many consumers that try to program their own remote, are going to screw it up. But there are also many that will do even a better job than a dealer could. A dealer isn't going to spend 100 hours making custom graphics for a single customer. Not without it costing the customer thousands of dollars in graphic design alone (that assumes they have the talent to do so).

Remember that.
