Reprogramming an existing remote shouldn't take more than an hour. Sad that you cant find a competent local installer. I am going to save you another 6+ hours of labor. It will cost you up front but will save you $ every time you dare update a device in your system.

Nissan didn't let me bring in the brakes i wanted to use. They forced me to use the ones that worked properly.

Maybe, Maybe not.  Most systems can easily be programmed in an hour or less.  With that said, most takeovers get a full reprogram which includes time to explore the system before programming.  6 hours, I can program the whole neighborhood
