I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

I see in two of the three products, they did NOT update the 15 year old WiFi chipset they have been using. Still no 5GHz and have to make sure 802.11g is enabled for them to work on WiFi.
That was VERY disappointing :(
Especially from what is suppose to be a "premium" product... My arse! How cheap are good wireless chipsets, for the love of g...

The external power supply on the Port was also disappointing to see, I agree. And of all the things to add, we get a 12v trigger. Not a sub output, not a digital input, but a 12v trigger. Not that I'm not happy to see the 12v trigger but if I had a choice on only 1 additional feature to add... it would not have been a 12v trigger. Multi-channel amps already have several different way to deal turn-on, besides 12v trigger.
And how much you want to bet, we still can not add a go^ dam^ wireless sub to the Port (ex-Connect).

The price on the Move is also ridiculous. They doubled the price just to include a 2 pound battery. Even the HEOS alternative is nowhere near that expensive, and that's saying something.

I'm sorry fan boys. But there is NOTHING about this SONOS release that I'm excited for. NOTHING!

Where is the Playbar refresh? Maybe there will be something to get excited about. I mean all they have to do, is take all the features from the Beam and put it into a Playbar system. How hard can this be!

An outboard power supply on the Port makes no sense... it's just making things harder to coordinate in a rack.
An optical input would have been ideal... alas.

The Playbar looks dated now, Sonos have decried Dolby ATMOS etc... but do you all remember the advertising campaigns where they lampooned Bluetooth?
And now?
'Hey everyone - we have Bluetooth and it's awesome!'

*sigh*
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

Wow, didn't think Sonos could get any uglier. Talk about some over rated junk.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

I harped on those at the training sessions I attended and explained why I would like to see them. I have to think others did the same because I seriously doubt they added them just for little ol' me.

I guess you are going to have to explain to us, too.

A 12V trigger is useful for using separate power amps when they don't necessarily have auto-sense and can't be controlled via IR/IP, etc and the outboard power supply means that existing speaker wire can be used for powering these speakers, avoiding the need to put an outlet near it.
