Lately the Nike’s I’ve been wearing have really started bothering my feet. Anyone have a recommendation of a comfortable summer shoe for work? Not a boot, and prefer something that’s not a slip on.

I know this is going to sound kind of crazy, but I recently realized that my kayaking shoes, Astral Brewers, were the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever worn, and started wearing them for work now that the weather is warmer.

I wear New Balance 608 and recently, added inserts from WalMart, for more support- my ankles pronate, so it helps with alignment. Much better. I have worn NB for a long time and for me, they're the most comfortable.

Nike Air VaporMax Utility.

I discovered these about 5 months ago and I love them. I have bad knees and these things help tremendously.

The utility version is even waterproof so if they get muddy or whatever, you can just spray them off. They're designed for more trail running in intimate weather.

Usually, places like Foot Locker might have 1-2 colors, but if you have an actual Nike store near you, they have several more colors available.

I forgot to add that if you look at the design, you're walking on true air bags/bubbles, under your entire foot. They are so squishy it's ridiculous. I wear them for everything. I don't see buying anything else afterwards.

Since I've always found Nikes to be very comfortable on average, I'd ask: 1) what models are you wearing, and 2) how exactly are they hurting?

Like, I used to be a Nike size 13 for my entire adult life, but as of 3-4 years ago they changed a bit, and I just recently discovered how much better 14 works for me. If it's width (which it often is for me), Air Zooms are known to run narrower than their other lines. Things like that.

Beyond that, Nike still makes cheap junk too, so you may need to stay in the higher end. Like minimum Air Max 270, more ideally full footbed Air Max (like Air Max 2017 or 720). My wife has some foot issues yet always wears cheap no-name shoes, and I just in the last month convinced her to try Air VaporMax and now she loves the dang things.

Just food for thought...

A lot of foot issues are caused by bad shoes but people just have to pay nothing or be fashion-followers.

I usually wear more of a dress shoe at work, but when I am teching or climbing a mountain I wear these:

Super comfortable and the quick lace is very convenient to getting your shoes on and off. Ironically my cousin from Scotland wears the same shoe.

Water proof good - that's cool.

I started wearing Hoka's - I've stuck with them as the seem to be the most comfortable.

I also have a pair of slip on Oboz

One thing I've noticed, is it seems to really help my feet to wear different shoes throughout the week.

I couldn’t take it any longer and wanted something today. We still have a local boot/work shoe store (that I remembered I had a $200 gift certificate from Christmas) I got a pair of these. I’m tired of athletic shoes that don’t hold up.

I can’t recommend a specific model. However the 40 dollar brand names at typical shoe store are one reason for painful feet. See if there is a specialty dealer that sells the better models of the brand names. I did and found relief. Will cost much more and worth it. Plus they have more size options. FYI. Only one store in my county I’m aware of so it may take some searching. Ask around as diabetics need better shoes.

The problem is lack of support. I feel like I’ve been walking barefoot on concrete all day. I don’t know what model. I usually buy one of the previous year’s models that are on clearance at a Nike outlet. The last ones were about $60 but had a BOGO deal.

I had a couple pairs of Merrells. They were another sale deal. Buy One Get One Half Off. They were comfortable. But they didn’t hold up.

That's what I'm talking about....I love mine...I've had mine for 4 years now.  They're literally the perfect boot.  Wear them for a couple of weeks and your back problems will miraculously disappear.

Didn't know Danner made shoes...I don't have a good history with Danners though. ..but still a great boot company.
