The most comfortable shoe i have ever owned is the Air Jordan Retro 2 Low Top. The width is slightly wider than most other Nike shoes and you're basically walking around on air all day. Every year they come out with a new color combination so they are easy to find.

I have also been buying late 80's early 90's retro shoes from other manufacturers. Diadora/British Knights/Lotto/Fila/Puma/Troop. You can usually find these on amazon for $20-50 a pair. They are all what i would call "skate shoes". Obviously nowhere near the comfort level of the Jordans but they fit well and are usually light weight.

Some of the shoes that were popular when i was growing up...

I've been wearing Keen sneakers every day to work the last 5 years. Great cushioning. Bought a second pair to replace the first a couple years ago.

Designed as hiking shoes. Very comfortable.

I tried on Keens first and liked them. But they do fit more like a boot than a shoe (which makes sense since keen makes boots). But after I tried the Danners, the keens didn’t feel right. Apparently keens run a bit narrow and may require different sizes than normal.

I usually wear more of a dress shoe at work, but when I am teching or climbing a mountain I wear these:

Super comfortable and the quick lace is very convenient to getting your shoes on and off. Ironically my cousin from Scotland wears the same shoe.

I was about to suggest the same. Great shoe! Note that they make two versions - one is waterproof, and the other is Goretex. Some people claim the waterproof version doesn’t allow your foot to breathe but it’s my go to mountain running shoe. Here’s a link to the waterproof version: [Link: salomon.com]

Have you been to a chiropractor, Fins? You could have a mis-alignment or something goofy. The chiro I use did a foot scan and got me custom orthotics a couple years ago. They help immensely! Sometimes it's not the shoes, but how we are walking around in them.

I had a couple pairs of Merrells. They were another sale deal. Buy One Get One Half Off. They were comfortable. But they didn’t hold up.

Merrells Moab non waterproof here. I have to replace two to three times a year due to wear but keeps my feet cool and feeling right.

My experience has been if I wear the same shoes all week my feet tend to hurt more than if I switch it up and wear something different a couple times throughout the week

+1, I have no choice, AAA width.

Wow, what part of them 'wears', I've had a couple of pairs now and the oldest pair is 'really' old and they still are in fine shape?

Couple of my latest.

Adidas Pharrell NMD Hu Clear Sky
Nike Kyrie 4 Lucky Charms
Nike Air Max 1 Parra
Lebron 15 Ashes

Have a bid in on some Lebron 15 Orange Boxes

I’m a bit of a sneaker head!!

My favorite shoes to work in are my Adidas Harden Vol 1 they are wildly comfortable and have a completely smooth tread, no places for gravel to hide. That is the number 1 consideration. We have a lot of homes with pea gravel and crushed stone driveways. Any substantial tread allows pieces to stick and tear a floor up!!! I keep house only shoes in the truck that are always clean and never worn on anything other than floors. These are Olu Kai.
I love supporting product that supports me!

This was one of the biggest issues I had with the last couple pairs I had. One was Nike’s, and the other was a pair of Skechers (We ended up in an outlet while on a trip because one of the kids needed shoes, and I got caught up in the sales). The Skechers would pick up even regular gravel size rocks. I would be walking and almost roll an ankle because of a rock stuck in the bottom.
