Wave2 Askey from ISP. Red light means it’s not connected to internet. Blue means it is. Purple is not a color in manual. However when it is purple all WiFi devices will have connection, but not all have internet. Reboot and light turns blue. All devices immediately have internet again. Easy answer is ditch Wave2, but I might learn something knowing why.

The only reference I can find to that is someone else who says they've seen the undocumented purple light when things stop working right, and thinks it's just the red & blue lights stuck on. So basically, crappy router.

ISPs aren't known for providing the best equipment, so....

FWIW, the best range I have seen from a router is the ASUS AC5300/ In a large house that was made from materials which cause terrible problems with signal strength & throughput, it kicks ass, all over. I even had great speed outside and the outer walls are covered by thick masonry and metal screen. If you have a distributor who sells ASUS, it may be an option.

We should all have this attitude when we run into something we don't already know about.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I worked with someone who refused to learn anything about something if he saw no value (not monetary value) in it. He walked into an AV distributor's open house and as another RC member & I were discussing what we had been working on, the guy asked what we were talking about. I told him we were discussing IT and he scoffed, asking "Yeah, but how many jobs do you need to do that? and after I paused, said "All of them". This was in 2008.

He's a lot like a June bug that finds itself in a corner and can't get out.
