I have a customer with an Integra receiver (Model 5.1 I think). I have tried to learn the Zone 2 codes in every way imaginable into a TSU-7000. No go.

So the manufacturer sends me the codes, but I'm not completely sure what format they're in.

For example:

Zone 2 on = D26D 04

Zone 2 off = D26C 47

Can I just cut and paste these codes, or do I have to convert them into Hex somehow??

Thanks,

Dawn

Dawn,
Look-up jonarmstrong or johnfines in the discrete hunter section.
They have the tools and the knowledge to give you a hand.

Typically, when you push the Zone 2 button on the remote, it enables those codes for about 5 seconds, then they revert back. For instance, press Zone 2 then power on within 5 sec and zone 2 comes alive. I just put those codes into an MX800 fine. Have also put them into a Sonance K2 keypad recently.

Pressing the zone 2 button does not itself seem to send a code but only enables a different set of commands from the remote for a short time. This could vary by receiver but I saw this on a 7.4 receiver and a 6.2 receiver in the last 2 weeks.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

If it is a 5.1, From what I recall, there is no way to control Zone 2 from the front of the unit. This was the first gen 2 zone unit that would use the primary codeset for zone 2 but ONLY fromt he IR input on the back...... Total pain n the butt...... However, if you happen to be using a MX850 in RF, youcan assign Primary control to go through IR1 to the Front flasher and Zone 2 to go to IR2 to the Back port......
I dont thing the "Zone" button was added rto the remote until the .2's

If the original remote has a 'zone 2' button, include that as the first step of every zone 2 function. If it doesn't, refer back to Impaqt's response.

The original remote has a zone 2 button, and it works just fine. I tried every iteration of learning possible.

The receiver goes into zone 2 mode and stays there until you hit the receiver button again. So, every time you hit, let's say the vol + or Vol - , buttons they work in zone 2 mode until you press the receiver button.

I have the file as a .ir file ( Crestron ). Do you have a translator program to change from .ir to what ever the extension is for URC?

Alan,

I found a file in the libraries here that looks like it will convert the .ir file to Pronto hex.

Please send the file to me!

Thanks,

Dawn

The DTR-5.1 only works thru an external IR receiver plugged into the MR jack.
The DTR-5.2 and 5.3 do not support the discrete power commands.
When sending commands, you must press "Zone" then the command. It is also important to incorporate some delays. A typical Zone 2 macro would look like this:

Zone
1 sec delay
Power On
4 sec delay
Zone
1 sec delay
Tuner

PS. The Zone command hex above was scrubbed with PENG but it works fine.

The "ZONE 2" Button Does not put the remote in Zone 2 mode. It puts the Receiver in "the next code is for Zone 2" mode. All the Commands are the same for Zone 1 and Zone 2..... Its really a terrible design.... The current gen are much better......

Impact,

This is really embarrassing.

The receiver is a 6.5

NOT a 5.1

I'm doing the Pronto programming for a local dealer and the field tech gave me the wrong model number.

Anyone have the zone 2 discrete's??? I need source, vol, and power on and off. :)

Sorry for the mistake.

Impact,

The receiver didn't come with a Chad, unfortunately, just the standard remote . Which won't let me learn anything related to Zone 2.

The DTR-9.4 ccf in the file section will work fine for you.

If its in fact a 6.5, you can skip the 'power on' command because the input commands turn the unit on(zone 1 and 2)
