Well, Mr. Compassion has checked in.

Tell me, which is more compassionate, putting a pet down quickly when they get old and can’t do what they naturally should do? Or dragging it all out spending thousands on them doing insulin injections, forcing pain medication into them, and even surgeries because we as humans are too selfish to let them go when they should?

They put them in these camps to socialize and have fun. Dogs get bored and if you both work, they spend around 16-18 hours a day alone or doing nothing. Dogs are not like cats that could be left alone for a week and not care.

That’s why I have a dog door and an invisible fence. If we need to be gone, I get a neighbor or a family member to stop by and feed twice a day.

Years ago though, a friend of mine decided he wanted a Husky. He was living in an apartment in Charlotte and working an internship doing about 12 to 14 hrs a day for about a year. He didn’t get his deposit back. On the upside, he didn’t have to deal with moving furniture either, since the dog pretty much ate it all.

There was a dead rez dog on the side of the road with two turkey vultures picking at it. Where's bob barker when you need him.

Here's where we take our dog.
[Link: campbowwow.com]

They have live feeds on their website and they also have an app.
Multiple areas with separate cameras in each.
The kids love checking on our dog while we are away.

Right now you can watch two guys working on one.
Pretty funny
Instead of asking me why my price is high ask the other guys why they are low.

I've figured it out. Some people get dogs because it makes them cool or fit some social circle. They don't really have time for the dog. But if they can view Muffy having a good time. They can feel good about themselves. And pretend to be a good pet owner. I need a ranch cam so I can watch the ranchers play with my next steak.

I love telling this story, so too bad..You're just gonna have to read it.  I had a yellow lab before I had my wife and kids.  His name was Bear. I bought him when I was 19 years old.(1989).  I spent $500 on him. That was over a weeks pay for me at the time.  But I needed a hunting dog.

I lived alone at the time, and 99% of the time, I was prewiring houses and condos where I never dealt with homeowners.  I brought Bear with me to work nearly every day, and He'd just hang out in the back of my truck, He'd jump out if/when he had to go to the bathroom, say hello to the other workers and when I saw him, I'd tell him to go get back in the truck, and he would.

When Bear was about 9 years old, I bought another dog. By this time I was married and had our oldest son.  Jack was a black lab and a little hyper so I signed him up for some obedience classes.  He ended up hurting his leg just before the classes, so I ended up taking Bear to the classes because I couldn't get my money back.

Bear was never on a leash because he was a hunting dog.  He was well trained.  I had hundreds of hours into that dog.  Regardless, I had to put him on a leash for the classes. He thought the idea of leashes were ridiculous, but he put up with it.

On the first day of classes, the lady gives me a form on a clipboard to fill out.  I notice a tiny little dog (the size of shi-tzu) he's on a leash and tied to a rolling chair.  I don't think anything of it.

I take Bear's leash and wrap it around my wrist a bit as Bear is standing there quietly.  All of a sudden my shoulder almost gets jerked out of the socket.

I look down and bear has the little dogs neck in his mouth, and now that poor little bastard has the full weight of bear on top of him. I lose it for a second and yell "Bear!"  and he looks up at me with this look like, I'm not letting whatever this thing is out of my mouth until you tell me to let go.  "Bear drop it".  I said.

He let's the little dog go.  The little dog take off as fast as he can go...dragging the chair on wheels...

I apologize to the lady running the class, I'm so embarrassed.. She said "No problem, he was tied to the chair because he has aggression problems...That may have just cured him".

Being a dog trainer, she quickly realized Bear didn't need training. "Why is he here?" Because my dumb dog got hurt.

That little bastard of a dog was at the class every time we went...He'd go crazy when he saw Bear, and Bear would just look at me like.."Is he serious".

So, it was a 6 week course, two times a week. By the end of the class Bear won the obstacle course competition..granted the other dogs were complete imbeciles. But Bear dug it.

I loved that dog.

When I had to put Bear down, I stopped duck hunting and to this day we still haven't got another dog.  Broke my heart.

It's super cool to be walking down the street with a plastic bag full of dog crap in the rain. I carry it proudly knowing everyone going by wishes they were me.

There are lots of irresponsible pet owners, however that does not mean that people that love their pets and want to ensure they are well cared for in their absence is anything but a good pet owner. You simply do not get the bond people have with their pets.

I've trained my Dachshund and Puggle to poop in the wooded areas on my road. 95% of the time they do, doo doo there. And they actually attempt to go under a limb or in the brushes. No need for me to pick up anything.

Yes, I understand that. There are just a few lotto winners too.
I also get the bond people develop. I do have a pet. Only creature in the house that says hi when I get home. Hmmmmm.

I can’t say the dogs are the only ones that greet me when I get home, but they are the only ones that don’t hit me with 10,000 requests before I can take my shoes off
