Doing a camera system for a dog grooming/boarding company. Client asked If it was possible for their customers to have access to one of the cameras. I know it’s possible to do this and set up user management where they can only see the one camera, but for a few reasons this is probably not the best way to go about it.

Is there a stand alone camera option that might allow for a live Facebook shot? Any other ideas about how to go about this. It would be a nice bonus if there was something that would take a third party camera so I could use a high quality outdoor one etc.

What has happened to peoples brains? We need doggie cams to check in on poochie poo?

Your complaint is that a new strange way to please someone, that is, sell them something they want, arises. And you're complaining. Just figure it out and take the money. It's not hurting anybody.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I'll protect my dogs to the death. They don't have a voice to tell me when something bad happens. I would not mind keeping an eye on them if they were staying somewhere. A local doggie camp was in the news recently for one of their employees kicking dogs and slamming a gate on them repeatedly. No camera and the employee would still be working there. Had people not had access it probably would have gone unnoticed.

Nest advertises this sort of thing on their site...  With the Nest cam, they could also talk to the dog.

You have a few different options to give the dog owner access.

That's your simplest solution.

There's virtually no money in it for you, but it wouldn't take long to get up and running and give instructions either.

You would think injuries would surface at some point. False sense of security. Millions of cameras out there and 1000’s of crimes committed daily. They may help catch someone and do. But rarely prevent poor behavior. I think we have reached a point where dumbasses want to be seen on camera.
But sure. Take the money.

Privacy would be a big concern for me. It’s not a big deal to allow remote access to Fifi-cam, but in a few days Fifi’s spot will be taken over by Bruno and credentials to access the camera would need to be updated. Hopefully, a software package exists that can perform this update as part of the standard guest sign-in and not require launching a separate process. However, this sign-in could be an add on service and the time required to configure the viewer could be written off as a cost.

What happened to dogs being animals and people taking the dog on a long walk with a gun when he gets too old and feeble?

My guess is owners put them in doggie dementia Memory care(joke) facilities like people. Feed them and pretend they are living a comfortable life.

They put them in these camps to socialize and have fun. Dogs get bored and if you both work, they spend around 16-18 hours a day alone or doing nothing. Dogs are not like cats that could be left alone for a week and not care.

People who do that should be tied to a post in a remote place and rubbed with meat.

The dog day care thing, with cameras, is big around here and a real productivity killer at work when employees watch their dog all day!

We don’t board or send our pup to a daycare but if we did you better believe it would be a facility with cameras.

Put a link on the daycare website to the IP address of a stand alone camera. Seems like a easy thing to do.

Here's a example.
