We normally provide our clients with motorola modems because they are reliable and we don't need to bridge them to work with our networks. It looks like spectrum in the la area is providing Ubee gateways. Has anyone tried to bridge them? If so, what is the process? We will be on site tomorrow.

The last one we did we had them bridge it. I believe you can do it but Spectrum may possibly revert it out of bridge mode (I was told) when updating things, etc.

That's what I thought. Then, once it reverts, we lose vpn, and things get messed up, and it's all our fault.

If you can, I'd just get them a Motorola. Better in the long run.

Certain model Ubee's require you to call to get them into bridge mode. Others, you can login using the last 8 of the MAC address as the user name and c0nf1gur3m3 as the password. Turn off WiFi, Turn of DHCP, then turn off PNAT. Do it in that order.

I don't see them much anymore in Florida but they are still in use with Brighthouse/Spectrum.

Your info is correct for us but I have to unhook the coax feed and then factory default the gateway for it to accept the MAC address/password combo listed above. Once I'm logged in that way, the "Tools" section is shown and bridging is an option.

After that, I hook the coax back up and reboot (don't default). If I remember correctly, I have to log back in using user/user and turn WiFi off.

Spectrum does not use Ubee in Florida. They only use Arris and Technicolor. I assume in Cali too. However if your services stay Brighthouse, you may use others including Ubee. If you do not get wifi from Spectrum the gateways bridge automatically during setup/provisioning. If you have Brighthouse services you must manually set them in bridged mode. Easy answer is to get a modem, only
