The EV driver for TC was very functional, looked good, and worked great. The URC Sonos driver is rubbish.

I think your sample size is only related to the Sonos driver? I'm talking about the other hundred or so. What are you TC/URC guys using nowadays for Sonos?

What do you use with TC? Did URC get their system up yo a speed that isn't painful?

^^This is where I land too. I feel for 3 pedal, but why do people persist in trying to wrangle the uncontrollable? One can bitch about the skin, but Sonos has the best interface out there, SO USE IT! It's obvious they don't care about any of us here, so we have to accept that and move on.

Or, if the guy needs Spotify to do whatever, can you move to Russound or some other POS that actually works for us?

Or, sell him a bunch of Echo Dots and have him walk around his house saying "Alexa, play Foo Fighters".

I think the average guy, or rich guy, just wants stuff to work. They don't care about how we get it to that point.

Guys were singing sonos' praises and saying they could clearly see where the market was headed when Sonos announced their integration with Control4 + Crestron.
Is Sonos still a visionary or nah?

Sonos always said don't blame us if a 3rd Party control fails, as we don't support it. While EV came up with a great solution, it was only a matter of time for Sonos to break it. And they announced at CEDIA that it would happen with the new agreement with C4, Crestron, etc. So it is your fault as a dealer that you thought they would never do that to us. They have never supported us after they got going.
Sucks to be you.

Greg you completely missed the point.. no one has said they thought it would never be broken. What folks are complaining about is the useless "endorsed" driver they left us with. It's literally pointless in a real integrated system. Like 3PM said it's made Sonos a non starter for lots of us that used the heck out of it previously.

Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrig disease. How did he not see that coming? D Leary

Sonos pulled the plug on 3rd party. How did he not see that coming?

As for Crestron whats the big deal? You want to use Lutron you pay what is essentially a support fee. Can you blame Crestron for wanting to recoup tech support labor for a product that they don't sell? Add it to the proposal and mark it up like everything else.

It's been a while. Probably 2 or 3 years. We tried the first touch screen and then the second gen version that was supposed to be faster. Both were slow

I feel like half the people on this thread do not understand the issue.

1. The hacked/non-endorsed/3rd party drivers worked great? they gave us everything that we wanted. (for the most part)

2. The endorsed control system/Sonos created driver is pretty much worthless.

The change that they made to announce cooperation with control companies has made the situation 100 times worse. This was supposed to be better for us and it is not.

So you haven't checked it out since the TKP2000 days?
