I desperately need a spam filter, the one from anhosting isn't working well and the ones built into outlook don't work either. Anyone have any suggestions? I've missed a few client emails due to the massive influx of spam in the last few months. It's between 200-300/day :(

We use these guys and I think the pricing is reasonable and it has significantly cut down on our junk mail. [Link: junkemailfilter.com]

How are you reading email? Online or with a mail client? Have you thought about using gmail to handle your company email? This might help with your spam problem. You should still always read through your junk mail because you never know whats going to get marked spam.

This was from a 2011 post i made about using gmail with my domain names. On December 16, 2011 at 09:14, jberger said...
Yes, it's easy and well supported in gmail.
While in you on logged into your gmail account, look for the gear icon and choose mail settings. Look under accounts, then add those domains to the "send mail as" feature. this will let you send mail from gmail as if you were logged into the other account. I do this for a number of accounts in gmail and it works well. You can even specify a different signature per "send as" address. I don't know whether or not this still works. My gmail account was created a week after gmail went online so i think i may be grandfathered in. Newer gmail accounts may need to pay for "G Suite" (new name for paid google subscription) [Link: support.google.com]

Careful with host spam tools. A couple of years ago i got a few emails from clients stating that they were missing emails from their contact forms. Anhosting went through some upgrade when it got phased out and midphase switched spam blocking on for everyone. Anything through a contact form ended up in the spam folder at the host.
Unless you make a point to login and check mail online with the host you wont ever know those messages came or where they ended up. When you let a mail client or service like google handle spam you will at least be notified (daily with no extra effort) and know that the message exists.
