I have tried all the appropriate RPTV-HD code sets that the Home Theater Master Editor has to offer after a db/update as recent as tonight, and all the "on" codes are really toggle. There are no "off" codes shown for page lists either, so why "on" instead of "pwr" anyway?.

In my experience, RTI is the best data cache in this niche, and there is a fair amount of such discreet on/off for the Pioneers, but does anyone have a method for extracting the codes and porting them to H.T.Mstr. MX-700?

In past projects, I have gone so far, (SLOW AND TIRESOME), as to cut and paste, from Marantz/Pronto, hex readouts, to goto RS-232, but the price range of billing won't allow that kind of time and eq. investment.

I'll start the download and test process of user files in the Files dept., but I remain hopefull of an import process...

Thanks in advance!
Bruce

The only way to do it is to use ProntoEdit as a middle man. Copy and paste the hex from RTI's library into prontoedit to create a .ccf file and then open the .ccf file in the MX software using the universal viewer deal.

I posted a step by step for this a week or two ago... you can find it if you search the forums.

Thanks guys I'm "All 0ver It", and I 'm learning that all devices aren't mapped out the same way when letting the editor fill in the blanks. In some, the hard buttons at the top of the 700 for "On" and "Off" may really be toggle for either or both, and the P-ON and P-OFF are the only discreets. In others, like some of the Pioneer RPTV codes are the reverse and the P-OFF is missing(!) in the panel labelled buttons. That is how I failed to notice, (for a LONG TIME ending this fine Sunday night at about 4:30 P.M.), that the soft labelled "P-ON" and the hard button "Off" was the magic combination for the 532HD5, probably the VSX49 too. I think... Seems like I tried every one on the test routine but foolishly just used hard button "On" with set already on, to test.

I actually still have an RC2000 or two left-over, and can go back to the RTI-Pronto-MX intermediary routine you describe, "The8thst", for others I need. Still need the DVD discreets.

AND NOW THE UNIVERSAL QUESTION:

Sheesh! Does any one know why the manufacturers continue to make it hard to get this info? Do they WANT their customers to be unhappy with the performance of their units in a mix that otherwise stays in synch perfectly?

Thanks!
Bruce
