Turns out that last night, Tivo fubared something on their end. The result is that Tivo units are getting stuck in a reboot loop. The bandaid is to disconnect it from the network (wired or wifi). You can then watch Live and recorded TV. Obviously it will not update guide data or do any streaming.

They are frantically working on a solution. I was being annoying to the tech I spoke with who said as soon as they had a fix, they would push out the update. I kindly reminded him that the bandaid was to disconnect from the network...which also delivers the update. He reluctantly half chuckled and said "I know....they are working on it. That is all I know."

I am surprised we have not received more than 1 call this morning. Not sure how this will play out. As soon as network connection is made, within 2 minutes, it reboots. Not enough time to go in and tell it to connect to Tivo Service. Are they going to make use download a patch to USB stick and use some magic button sequences to load new software? Many people do not even know what a USB is let alone will be able to do this process without our assistance.

Yay service calls?

Something happened to my Tivo mini about 2 weeks ago and I can't get it back up. Says it's a network problem, but I've rebooted everything.

Funny, (or not so funny) I had the same issue around the time Julie did.  My Roamio was acting wonky, but my mini struggled to do anything.  I would reboot it, and it would work for awhile, then the following day, it would act crazy again.

The mini is in my bedroom, so i didn't really worry about it too much...It went on like that for a little over a week..I finally completely disconnected it from the network, rebooted it, contacted TIVO service and it's worked ever since..

I noticed the following day that I finally got everything working again, that I had HBOGO and few new apps available on TIVO.

My question to you folks, do you have those new apps on the TIVO service?

So after 2 rounds with tech support, they are aware of the issue, and it sounds as if they have narrowed it down to certain servers, so it does not affect all Tivo units. They expect a solution within 24 hours, but recommend leaving the network disconnected until then. The cruddy part is you have to call in and ask if the fix is available yet, and then hope you can simply connect the network and get an update and it will all work. :)

Client's Roamio locked up last night. Call to cable company rebooted it.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
