I need to take a look at a New subwoofer line. I wanted to see what everyone else was currently using without any issues. 10-12" varieties. $700-1500 range
I use Triad exclusively for an inwall solution.
I sold Sunfire years ago. It seamed like they all eventually broke. I am little scared to go back.
Any thoughts.

Klipsch has been good in the past. Failures on just a few models. Anything eles I have used is mixed results depend on which series and where in China the junk was made.

I haven't had a single Sunfire failure. Been using them for a few years now.

It looks like Sunfire has brought back a variant of the Tru sub signature eq, which was awesome. I have one in a corner waiting to be repurposed.

The JL stuff is amazing, I replaced my Sunfire with a pair of Fathom 10" and it is an experience.

I haven't tried the Esub, but a friend of ours just did a few and I'm sure he'll be chiming in. He had good things to say.

There are others be been happy with, definitive super cubes are great performance for the money, I've done a few Martin Logans and had been happy as well.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

JL is everything from the Fathom down to the Dominion. The E-subs are unreal. JL will quickly become the standard. The Sumiko line is beautiful and are musical. The Sumiko's do not have the depth and output that the JL's do.

I've had great success with Earthquake subs ([Link: earthquakesound.com]) - especially the MKVI series. Good margins. Their amps are great as well. Their inwall/ceiling speakers, well.......never again.

I like Martin Logan. The Dynamo 700 has built-in wifi. $699 retail - same as Sonos retail. No failures after 4-5 years.

We also have seen a number of Sunfire failures, though I don't think it has been an alarming number, and most were well out of warranty. We did lose 2-3 HRS subs last year, but the customers weren't too upset, so I guess they didn't fail too prematurely.

In the $700-1500 price range you will LOVE the JL D and E Series. That won't quite get you an E-112, but I think you would be blown away by the E-110. I have two in my house, in an open floorplan and the output is great. The same two subs in a theater sounds..well....better than you ever thought two 10's could sound. Cleaner, deeper and louder.

I don't know of any subs that have a brakes unless you consider servo control as a brake. Disc or drum brakes?

Not sure about seams

Is Triad not an option, for some reason?
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

For basic subs I've had good luck with the wireless Polks or Episodes. For nicer stuff, I always had good experiences with Rel.
