Dahua or Hikvision are the 2 top dogs in the budget surveillance game. Both are sold under the label and both are also rebadged by various vendors.

www.gogss.com. They're infuriating to deal with, as they have a wonderful website full of non-existent product, and don't always understand what it is you want. But the product is solid and less expensive than a lot of other brands.

Jesse, if you're on a shoestring budget, take a look at some of the warehouse kits (Costco, Sams, etc.) As long as the system uses BNC connections (for analog or TVI) or RJ45 for IP systems, you'll be able to run your own wires and terminate them if the premade cables are not long enough.
Do realize that if you have issue with any part of the system, the store will make you return whole system. That means pulling out the cables, taking down every camera, etc. I've know people that tried to purchase replacement kit just so they could swap bad parts and return the rest, only to find out that the kit is no longer available. For that reason, I've seen people purchase 2 kits just to have spare parts.

Just look at "Dahua Kit" on Amazon and you will find plenty of affordable options that use reasonably good equipment. 8 cameras, Tribrid DVR and 1TB HDD for $600 or so. That would be an ok way to try the equipment that you might be able to install in the future adding a revenue stream for your company.

I have a system sitting on my desk that I'm testing. they even put my logo on the splash page of the NVR. Check them out, but they may not sell to you. Check out the Flir kit, which is made by Global security.

Run the cat-5/6 to the camera locations now. Save up. Buy a better system when you can afford it, since you can live without it anyway.
