My wife has a relative that gave everyone in the family towels for Christmas. for each household got two bath towels, two hand towels, and two wash cloths. The bath towels were monogrammed. Looked nice. But with everything going on, my wife left them in the box until today and never looked that close at them. Now this relative works at a hotel. What my wife realized, the towels are hotel grade towels. Yep, monogrammed hotel grade towels. But the best part, it's very obvious that the towels aren't new. Yep, monogrammed old hotel towels.

Top that.

If Mr. Stan had made this exact post you'd all be calling for a lifetime ban from all A/V forums, not just RC.

Just sayin'.

That's stupendously easy to top.

Wrong initials.

And yeah, what Ali said.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The towel thing is hilarious. Her name isn't Barbara Vanhoose is it? Sounds exactly like something my aunt would have done.

At Christmas i usually get something for my mom, girlfriend and all the children in the family. IF i come across something i think is funny or great for any of the adults i will get it for them. So last year my sister got hatchback lifters because i got tired of hitting my head when helping her carry things from her car. The year before i borrowed my brothers van and had it detailed because he never washes it and i couldn't take it anymore. Once i bought a flask that had a funny image and quote on it for my cousin whos known to drink too much.

I feel zero need/want/guilt/whatever to buy meaningless gifts for everyone. I have a closet full of candles and trinkets and cheap dollar store electronic kitchen gadgets that people get us for Christmas. Save your money...let's hang out instead and play "remember the time".

I got a well used copy of the 12 inch single of "baby give it up" by KC and the Sunshine Band. This was about 8 years after anyone gave a crap about that song.

A friend was just telling me yesterday that his long time girlfriend got him a "poop and put". I thought it was an awesome side gift until he told me it was his "big" gift for the year.

While Stanley's stories always include elements that are unbelievable, it's never been his stories that made anyone think he needed a vacation. It was his melt downs and harassing other posters.

Probably because you bought her knee pads.

Wow.... well, I have a "family member" (in-law) who burns CD's & movies and gives them as gifts at Christmas... it is only things he likes and wants you to watch / listen to. Gee, thanks for the Frank Zappa CD and the copy of The Thing...

He is not broke or strapped by any means....

(Edit) Forgot to mention he gave us a $100 Mortons gift card that someone else gave to him... It still had their name on it and he didn't want to go because dinner for two is more than $100 at that place...
