I know there are a few threads with info on shoes and what everyone wears and recommends or recommends against. I wanted to start a new one more specific to my needs. I am in need of new shoes. I wear the older version of the pictured shoe. This one is discontinued with no plans for a replacement according to New Balance. I am looking for a similar shoe. Size 14 4E. I have boats for feet, ok?

I know I am not the only one who wears slide on shoes like this. It is so convenient on jobsites where I am in and out a lot.

Any recommendations? And no...I will not wear crocs. :P Thanks!

If you'd consider a leather shoe, I want wear anything other than these. Steep toes, actually really comfortable, and my current pair has lasted over two years of every day hard wear.

Where I come from all the loggers wear Romeos in their pickup and then slip them off to put their caulked boots on.

Romeos are pretty tough.

I always told myself that I would never wear crocs. But after we purchased them for all of our guys I really like wearing them on jobsites for finish work. Most of our guys have some sort of inside "finish" shoes and normal footwear. No I would not wear crocs out in public! LOL

I prefer running shoes for work and crocs for finish work.

I wear Brooks or New Balance Running Shoes. If I have a meeting then I wear Dress Shoes. If I am working on a commercial project, then we have to wear steel toe. I wear my running shoes 90% of the time. After I hit 500 miles of running in them, they become work shoes. I did a pre-wire the other day in 10 degree weather with my New Balance.

I use to wear the chain store version of NB and others and developed foot troubles. Went to a specialty store and bought the guality models and pains went away within a month. No special boots, shots or surgery doctors wanted to do. Just some FYI to pass on. Check these out too.

I've worn Dr Martens forever. The older ones were great and lasted forever. Now, if you buy he standard versions they are not made nearly as well. I used to get more than three years out of a pair before they were trashed. Then they could be refurbished. The new ones are only good for about a year. Still the most comfortable work shoes I've ever worn. They make the originals still and call them something special, can't remember now. They are double the price of the standards, still made in the original English factory and will last forever, and can be resoled as part of the price. These are the ones I wear outside of work.
Anyway, still love the Docs. Just be aware of the limitations of the standard versions.

I had some NB's in extra wide and my feet hurt like hell after a short while. Not having the same problem with the 5e Propet's, as I can be on my feet for hours with no pain at all.
