Bruce is back and has been posting in the Everything Else thread but he has come back as politically charged as before he was banned. I am suggesting that he is banned permanently since he still is seeking to offend members on here. I say we take a poll for a permanent ban on Mr. Stanley and the moderators agree with what is determined.
Plus #1 if you think his behavior is unacceptable. I'm for him staying. If we all thought the same way, this world would be very boring.

If everyone only shared a pile of dirt and had nothing else, someone would want to control that dirt pile or would want more of it for themselves and someone would want to be in charge of things.

I decided years ago to ignore every post this person makes and I've never responded to any of his posts since Is that not really the solution? If you do not like him then don't read his posts, don't respond to his posts and ignore him completely. If you do like him or think he his posts interesting then read and respond to them. Ban him? Ignore him. Don't ask for someone else to do what you have in your own power to do by your lonesome.
I love how so many small government folks who believe in individual responsibility are asking for the equivalent of big daddy intervention of all knowing, all powerful government. You have the ability to solve this problem yourself. If you dislike the man or find him offensive or annoyng then ignore him; shun him; fail to read and respond to his posts. Take responsibility into your own hands. For the sake of decency stop asking for an all-powerful being to do what you can do for yourself. For shame.

highfigh, a GREAT example of this is found in the Muslim world. I ran across an article on September 11 reporting on a Muslim cleric telling the United States that we should stop memorializing September 11 because doing so can only cause division and strife. So says a guy who is quite willing to bring up the Crusades. So says a guy whose religion is made up of two groups who are willing to kill one another over the manner of choosing the Caliph. He is to be selected by the elite of the community (Sunnis); or chosen from among Mohammed's family (Shiites, the minority, about 10%, but about 80% of the population in the oil-rich areas). More can be found at [Link: npr.org]

I decided years ago to ignore every post this person makes and I've never responded to any of his posts since Is that not really the solution? I recall when that happened. You were angry because I was saying (wrongly) - Crestron was problematical, and your argument was that it wasn't the equipment, but the programming (by crappy programmers ) that was the issue. Iwas in the wrong... it was just that it seemed like EVERY Crestron install I came upon had problems and issues. None were 100%---so, I bagged on the product, when you were correct - in that it wasnt the gear--- but the programming of said systems. I came to the same conclusion in time (after you and I parted ways). We went back and forth on the subject and you finally said that's it. Not talking to you or responding. You kept your word, and Id don't think we got into calling each other bad names etc. I respect you for that. I enjoyed your posts during pre-election times and hope you offer up some opinions again. I'm not even expecting a comment or reply as I know you've held true to what you had said, but hope you are keeping busy... I agree, ignoring instead of name calling (which I've been just as guilty of ---get hit, you hit back) - accusations of lying, name calling and personal attacks don't make for a happy forum.

highfigh, a GREAT example of this is found in the Muslim world. It's not just Muslims, it's every group. The Vatican had supreme power in the Middle Ages and then, the Reformation gave them some competition within Christianity. The Eastern Church and Western Church had their schism in the 11th Century and the Western Church had their own in the 14th Century, with two different people claiming to be the real Pope. What a surprise. Various other Christian denominations have come and gone with some despised by others and when the Puritans came to the New World, it was to get away from anything that had to do with Catholicism. Doesn't matter what time period is considered, someone in the big camp hate some of the other campers. I had an aunt who was a devout Catholic and she had absolutely no use for Lutherans. I asked- it didn't matter that Lutherans are Christian, she still couldn't stand them. I didn't see any reason to continue the debate. Shiites and Sunnis have major disagrements and they want to kill each other more than they want to breathe. Orthodox and Reformed Jews can't agree....and so on.

Yep, look up the 30 Years War, which was incredibly violent and horrible, between Catholics and Protestants.

Never made any sense to me.
Let's kill each other over our different religions, then go to church and claim how righteously religious we are.
Silly of me to think we actually could, and should, just get along with each other.

I dont believe in talking bushes, or snakes offering apples, or Noah's arc or coming from the rib of someone... spreading of the sea... Going to church and drinking the blood of jezus (cheap ass wine) and wafers... All of the fairy tales. Religions have been the cause of most of our wars over the years. Stupid sh*t. Rant over. Just treat each other nicely.

It's not just Muslims, it's every group. Let's start here: when I mention that I have found some bad examples in one religion, I AM NOT saying that bad things have not been done, also, in the names of other religions. To say that is to say that because Onkyo makes some crap HDMI boards, we should turn our back on video. That's basically what you're saying. See, yes, religions are run by people who truly believe they're doing the Lord's will, and are wrong sometimes. But if you total up the number of people killed in the name of religion versus the number of people killed by avowed atheists, you'll see the number is WAY in favor of religion. Look at the numbers killed by Hitler, Stalin, Mao; these are definitely not your religious crowd... you'll find atheism to be responsible for much more death than religion. And atheism doesn't have its Mother Teresas, its soup kitchens, etc etc. People who can only focus on the bad things done by people in the name of religion do not look at the whole picture. What they see supports their position, so it's all they need to see.
