Just Add Power, global leaders in HDMI® over IP distribution, are allowing CE Pro 100 & CI Summit attendees to be the first to see their highly anticipated 3rd generation 3G Ultra HD over IP™ Transmitters and Receivers, which work in conjunction with a standard Gigabit Managed Ethernet switch to distribute 4K/UHD and HDCP 2.2 encrypted content, as well as 1080p and lower content, from any number of source devices to any number of displays over a local area network. The comprehensive feature set has been tailored for custom installers to include HDCP 2.2 support, a built-in 4K/1K up/down scaler on the Receiver for the distribution of HDMI 2.0 sources to non HDMI 2.0 screens and vice versa, enhanced support for video walls, support of uncompressed lossless multichannel audio formats including Dolby Atmos®, USB over IP, and Dolby® down mixing to stereo analog audio.

With our product design 4k is an evolution not a revolution. We just don’t believe in telling people to toss out what they bought last year or 4 years ago. Same switch, same cabling, same control system drivers, more features and better performance.

Unlike other IP-based video distribution products, with 3G there is no mandatory upgrade to 10 Gigabit managed switches and costly fiber optic cabling, though fiber can be used if desired. Otherwise, use standard Cat 5e/6 cabling and a Gigabit managed switch with the 3G Ultra HD over IP™ Transmitters and Receivers to create an HDCP 2.2-compliant, Ultra HD video matrix of any size, from 2×2 to 4000 x 65,000 with support for video walls (up to 16 x 16) and a built-in 4K scaler (on 3G Receivers) that facilitates the distribution of HDMI 1.4 devices and HDMI 2.0 displays and vice versa.

Specifications:
  • Build any size of network of HDMI devices, with video matrixing applications possible from as small as 2×2 to as big as 4000 x 65000.
  • 2160P Ultra HD resolutions and HDMI 2.0 devices with HDCP 2.2  supported
  • Full HD and lower resolutions and HDMI 1.x and lower devices also supported.
  • All 3D video formats supported
  • Instant Seamless switching between ANY resolution HDMI source (2160, 1080, 720, 576, 480, interlaced or progressive)
  • Mix and match legacy HD monitors with new HDMI 2.0 monitors in the same network thanks to Seamless HDCP™ conversion
  • Supports Uncompressed Lossless Multichannel Audio formats including Dolby Atmos.
  • Supports PCM 2.0 Audio
  • Supports Compressed Multichannel Audio
  • Dolby down-mixing from 5.1 or 7.1 Compressed Audio can optionally be converted to Dolby PLII and output as stereo 2.0 in individual zones.
  • Improved Interlaced Video format support – now lossless
  • Built-in video wall support from 2×2 to 16×16 in size-now with enhanced support for portrait and flipped displays, and no more tears.
  • Stereo Compressed Audio Extractor with Programmable Delay on TX and RX
  • Controllable Analog Audio with Ground Loop Isolator
  • MIC-IN and LINE-IN ports on Transmitter (mix w/HDMI)
  • Independent RS232 Matrix on LAN
  • Real-Time Management Console Interface
  • Integrated Null-Modem on the RS232 ports
  • Two-Way CEC over IP Communications
  • IR over IP
  • USB 2.0 over IP Supported for KVM applications
  • Locking HDMI Cables Supported
  • HTTP Interface with Unique Device Name support
  • On Screen Display API
  • Image Pop™ – overlay a full color image/logo on top of the HDMI signal with alpha channel transparency.
  • Image Push™ – upload a background image
  • Image Pull™ – Live Preview snapshot of video from any RX or TX to any web device
  • Image Pause™ – freeze frame on target displays
  • Works with the same Control System Drivers, Ethernet Switches, and Integrator Tools as Just Add Power’s 2G/2G+/2G+AVPro products.
  • Works with fiber, but not required for best results
  • Ultra low latency – much better for live video venue end user experience vs. AVB
  • Power over Ethernet (POE) Powered

If you can get over this week, I should be around to give you a tour. After that, I'll be on the road for 3 weeks demonstrating 3G and 2G+4+ (starting in Melbourne for CEDIA in Oz). We did move last year. Here is the new address:

Just Add Power
12505 Starkey Rd
Suite A
Largo

Phone 727-517-4053 x2 (that's technical support, just let them know you are local and planning to drop by).

Will there be a 3G version of the rack-mount transmitter at launch?

The stand alone 3G models are going to be shipping before CEDIA 2015 Dallas. The Rackmount 3G options will be launched after CEDIA 2015 Dallas.

what type of compression are we talking about here? How would you describe what to expect on the video side of things? It seems as we increase resolution compression becomes more and more important. especially for sources that already use higher levels of compression like cable and satellite.
I love supporting product that supports me!

Just like the 2G series, our 3G devices use Just Add Power's own proprietary encode/decode algorithm, they are not standards based (i.e. H.265 or other such fixed algorithms such as JPEG2000 which was used with our 1G devices). This gives us the freedom of improving the CODEC over time. More specifically, measuring our CODEC when used with something like the Sony 4K media player comes in at between 200mbps and 400mbps on the GB LAN (don't believe those folks who tell you that you need 10GB fiber switches to do 4K over IP!). While this is much higher than things like 4K Netflix (typically 25mbps), it is only a fraction of the bandwidth we have available on a GB Ethernet switch. With a simple free firmware update, we can take advantage of that remaining available bandwidth as our programming techniques keep being refined. Compared side-by-side to 2G, the 3G devices have overall better video quality, more features, and faster processing (i.e. lower latency). In either case 2G or 3G look much better than streaming 4K from Netflix or any other online source.

In other words, expect the best looking video experience with 3G, even better than our already critically acclaimed 2G devices. At the same time, it is easy to bridge 2G and 3G together on the same switch, using the same Just Add Power drivers, allowing you to enjoy everything everywhere.

If you can't make it to the CE/CI event for the first public demonstrations, come to CEDIA in Dallas and see for your self. We should also have 3G demo kits available for dealers before CEDIA. If you can't come to us, we'll ship evaluation samples to you.

Be sure to sign up with www.ultrahdip.com to register your interest and be one of the first to know when 3G starts shipping.

Will it handle full 18gbs? I know there will not be many sources with that capability but wondering for future products. I think 4K and HDCP 2.2 is awesome already.
