Someone getting hit in the nuts is always funny. Fart jokes and farting is always funny. Bodily fluids is always funny. And a hot girl using cum for hair gel is always hysterical. Lighten up. As Patrice O'Neal once said, "some rape jokes are funny"

Sure, but a movie about assasinating a current leaqder of a country is uh, not a very good idea.

It's been done before. Once with North Korea too.

Sony is weighing the risk, against the reward. If anything were to happen, they'd be sued. My understanding is that theaters were already talking about not showing it. So, by Sony making this decision, their insurance company will likely have to pay out, probably resulting in more revenue than if they were to show it at the theaters that would still do so.

The people proclaiming about the precedent this sets, are people who's money isn't on the line. Sony is a business, this is a business decision.

there were some chains that did cancel their showings, so you are right on that. I also think people are missing the obvious. There is nothing stopping Sony in 6 months or a year or at any other future date from releasing the film in theatres.

"Death of a President," 2006, a British mockumentary in re George W Bush. [Link: en.wikipedia.org]. The article calls it a "high concept mockumentary," whatever a high concept might be here. Maybe no fart jokes. Who can tell.

And I never heard any complaints from anybody about that movie back then!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Hillary Clinton, then junior United States Senator from New York, told The Journal News of Rockland, Westchester, and Putnam counties at the annual New Castle Community Day in Chappaqua that, "I think it's despicable. I think it's absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick."[8]

The point is had it been Clinton or Obama instead of Bush, the media would have been all aflutter and the pic would have been banned and people jailed. Thats how radicals work.

Do you know if she made that statement on her own? Or did she make it after being asked about the movie?

How'd I get lucky and never get arrested for buying my Slick Willy movie poster, or a Bill Clinton $3 bill?
