Great musician, great group (saw them twice in Seattle)... 71 years old.
Surprised Ginger Baker has outlived him!

Been jamming Cream at work all day.

One of the main reasons I wanted to play bass- amazing he and Clapton had reached the level of acclaim at such early ages- Bruce was 23 and Clapton was 21 when Cream formed.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

I was so blown away when I saw him with Ringos All-Star band. With that line up was also Simone Kirke Bad Co and Gary Brooker from Proco Harum and forget who was on axe, but Bruce stole the show hands down, what an amazing performer.

I remember after Jack brought the house down with White Room ringo said from behind his kit,"and i am suposed to be the headliner"

I had no idea how good of a bass player he was untill that night.

R.I.P.

Wasn't Frampton on that tour?

He was probably the 2nd best bass player to come out of the UK during that era.
And also remember what a great songwriter he was! I really feel he was technically better than McVie and Wyman, but certainly not the Ox.

He wrote many of the non cover songs that Cream recorded. His Songs For A Tailor (1st lp) is a great album.

I really love the song Theme From An Imaginary Western.
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.

Sounds like you saw them in '99- I watched a bunch of the videos and at least one was shot here during Summerfest and I think I was there for that.

Here's a list with all of the line-ups;

Seems that Jack and Ginger didn't completely avoid each other- Baker played on the cream songs on one tour, in several cities.
