Anyone else having issues with the ipad(2) specifically? Seems the last two updates have made its operation more worthless each time. Slow as dirt, touch sensitivity is horrible. Deleting an email is even slow. The list could keep going.

I haven't used my iPad 2 in months and rarely in the last year. I'm over tablets. Just not my thing.

SOP for apple is to push one more OS update to devices than that can efficiently handle.

This insures that the devices run the OS, but performance is severely hindered. Prompting people to upgrade their hardware now that they are enticed by the new features that effectively bricked their old hardware.

This is not a new thing.

they ought to offer access to the older updates to reset the machines. But no, it is the only way some people will upgrade...... I for one didn't need a new one, but the software update bricked mine.

Microsoft does the same thing.

My old laptop with Windows XP will run real fast when I do a clean install. Then after a few hours of updates and service packs, it runs like it's in the stone age.

So they do an update and cause a device that worked fine to run like crap. Anyone ever get anywhere with paying the 20 to talk to them?

You and me both. I use it daily at work but never for personal use. I would like to get rid of my iPad3 and get an iPad mini so i can ditch one of these charging cables.

After being through this with my iPhone 4S I specifically researched the updates and held off. And am really glad I did. Planned obsolescence in an effort to drive sales but in reality just alienates us.

The good news is you can buy a new one.

The bad news is you have to buy a new one!

The same happened to my iPad 2. I wiped clean with a factory restore at 8.0.2 and upgraded to 8.1 and it's better now, not as quick as the iOS 6 but better than the initial iOS 8 upgrade that made the device almost useless.

Same problems here. Any way to restore to the previous iOS?
