I just saw my U-Verse Internet bill and, because it's a lot more than I had been paying with their promo price, I looked into the current promos from ATT and Time Warner, so I would have some ammo for negotiations. ATT has new plans- the low speed doesn't interest me but the middle is up to 18Mbps for $19.95 (regular price is $29.95) and the Pro plan is up to 45Mbps for $29.95 (normally $49.95). I'm on hold, waiting for Customer Relations to pick up.

Time Warner's plans are:

Standard Internet, up to 15Mbps for $34.99/mo
Turbo Internet, up to 20Mbps for $44.99/mo
Extreme Internet, up to 30Mbps for $54.99/mo and
Preferred TV & Internet, 200+ Channels with Whole House DVR Service HBO® and Showtime® OR HBO® and STARZ®, Up to 30 Mbps Internet with Home Wi-Fi for $129.99/mo

16 minutes on hold and counting.

Let the negotiations begin! It's time to beat them into submission.

Take it! Take it all!

Brighthouse here, 10mb down, 1 up, $54

Brighthouse is terrible and my only other option is dsl for just slightly less, why does everyone else get great internet for a reasonable price and I get this. I don't even mind the price. I'd just like 20 down for that price.

this is the only reason I stay with twc, but that is on the fence as I am well over 250 a month beware. I have no movie channels.

This is the first time I have seen under 100 in months, usually about 115Mbps

Why do you have such fast speed- are you sending/receiving huge files?

I found those prices while I was on hold. They knocked off $15/month and I said "OK, but I'm going to look for other options". They all bend over backward for new customers, but the old ones? BOHICA

At times.

We got it for free for awhile, I think they see the competition coming, now we pay an extra $30 for it and its getting ready to go buh buy.

That's more the norm.

This stuff really burns my a$$! I have Comcast and signed on at a six month promotional rate of $19.99/mo a few years ago. My rate has climbed ever since and is now at $65/mo for speeds right around 17 Mbps down.

They used to negotiate with me when I called up to complain about the price increases, but the last time I called, they basically told me to take a hike because they know I have next to no power....you know, because their industry is so damn competitive and all. Whatever!

Instead of raising my rates when the intro period was over they downgraded my service. I kept waiting for the bill to increase but it never did. I loathe their "support" team. I wish i could go to a website, create an account, enter my contact and payment info and have high speed internet just turn on. Thats how i got electricity. Its how i buy shoes. Why cant this technology based company jump up here to 2014 with the rest of us?

$65 gets your 105Mbs DL in CHicagoland.

They want everyone on a package nowadays. at least Cable/Internet/Phone with Home security as a "Bonus"

My original DSL plan was 3Mbps, for $9.99/month. Last time they changed the price because DSL was disco'd and U-Verse is taking its place, they were trying to charge me $49.95 for 6Mbps. Now, they jacked it to $51, but my speed is supposed to be 12Mbps I did a speed test while I was on that call and it came in right at 12MB down, 1.43Mb up. I got them down to $35.99, but this is ridiculous. Might have to disconnect and use public WiFi.

The best thing is that their support department can't send an e-mail.

Exactly...that's the rub and what they push hard for every time I call. Nothing about their package deal interests me either. I use DirecTV and haven't had a hard line in almost a decade now. If you want to force me into something, how about at least forcing me into something relevant.
