NEZBO, first you should have used us! That cable box probably uses the 9300 series HDMI chipset from Silicon Image. If they used that chipset, it is known to create a clock stretching issue which will result in either an intermittent picture or no picture at all. By placing a cheap splitter between the source and the TX side of the HDBT pair, it reclocks the signal correcting the problem and all is well. This fixes 99% of these types of issues.
To address this and other requests, we will be shipping a new version of the SoloCAT HD series called the SoloCAT HD Ultra. It will have a 1X2 splitter chip designed into the the transmit side which will mirror the HDBT, along with audio return path (ARP). This new TX/RX pair will have HDMI over HDBT, bi dir RS232, our proprietary IR circuitry that will work with just about any IR blasters and receivers, 4 ports of 10/100 Ethernet and audio return path along with our power over cable design. Available at the end of March.
That's it.
Jeff
Jeff, Just to be clear. We had 15 extenders we purchased from the company I mentioned over a year ago to try them out. We sent them all back and they credited our account and sent us new HDBaset extenders. We still love Zector.
