Does anyone have Discrete on/off codes for a Pioneer PDP5040-HD?

I used the codes that I found on Remote Central for a previous model, and they worked fine for the On/Off part. The problem is, anytime I send the discrete on, like when I change activities, it causes the DTV tuner to freeze up. I figured this out after a warranty service call by Pioneer. The tech and I messed with it for an hour. I finally figured out that anytime the discrete on for the earlier model (it's listed as a PDP-503CMX on the .ccf) is sent to the unit, while it is already on, it locks up the DTV tuner.

I was hoping that there are new codes out there that I have not found. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

COULD HAVE TOLD YOU THIS AT LEAST A WEEK AGO.
(CHECK POST 8/6).
SAME PROBLEM.
ALL YOU CAN DO IS SEND OUT NO. '0' WHICH WILL TURN IT ON AND SEND IT TO INPUT 1. THEN YOU HAVE TO REDIRECT THE MACRO TO THE NECESSARY INPUT. THATS WHAT IVE GOTTA DO

Not sure which Pioneer you have, but the media converters are made by Sharp on several of their models. If Pioneer doesn't have updated discretes for you, maybe Sharp does.

the Sharp doesn't have any discrete codes at all. That's kinda lame for an $8000 unit...
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Sorry,

Hadn't seen your earlier post. I'll try that when I go over there today...

Thanks for the help.

I just experienced the same thing a few days ago. Just to re-cap for those of us who missed the first post, am I correct in thinking that if you simply send out a numeric key "o" command to the panel it will act as a discrete "on" command and also switch the input to the HDTV tuner input?

I think smirnov must have been talking about a different model, it does not work on the PDP-5040HD unit that I was looking for help on. I tried it. No button on the remote will turn the TV on except for the power toggle...

I was sending the discrete on command that I found for a PDP-503CMX, and it worked as supposed to, but it locked the DTV tuner up.

I guess you just have to turn the TV on manually, then run the macros.

Have you tried this file?

Always worked for me on all their Plasma panels.

John,

The codes for the RPTV's that you gave me the link for had the same result as the other ones. They work fine as discrete on/off, but it still locks up the DTV...

Still turning the unit on and off manually...

Thanks for the tips guys.

Just a note, if you order the repair manual for the 5040 or the pro1000 you get a 503 manuel with a cover folder (just a few pages) for the changes for each of the above mentioned models, but nothing about any changes to the ir sequences.

I'm guessing there isn't much difference between the Aussi model and any of the others. What "exactly" did Pioneer tell you to do regarding the "0" smirnof? That may be the only answer. There doesn't seem to be anything about this in any of the service manuals I've checked.
