Just to play devils advocate, might one argue
that most job ads should state clearly where the
job location is and that the potential applicant
shouldn't have to seach for the location as if
it's an Easter egg hunt?

If I were Ahl I would offer the comeback that
I would never want to work for someone without
the good common sense to list the job location
in the ad :-). Same reasoning, right?

No argument from me. That leaves more job openings for the more adventurous among us.

Q - you got a point, I guess intially I was just testing the water to see if there was any interest as I know the relocation part of changing jobs can be a very daunting especially if overseas ( which nobody knew was the case) therefore please accept this as an apology for being somewhat misleading in my original post and expecting anyone to check the profile for further information. In hindsight it worked well I've never had so many replies to one of my posts.

Anyway now that everyone has got a feel for where the vacancy exists and maybe even some of you have found the company website (just in case www.ais.ky), what say we put this train of thought in the past and concentrate on the issue at hand.

I look forward to being inundated with resumes early next week.

Larry the chance exists, how far do you want to jump. Oh one thing, all of the best diving spots are in Cayman, I scuba also and if you haven't dived the wall then you are missing out.

I agree but I think we really need to see some pictures of the babes on the island to properly judge whether it's worth relocating. Hopefuylly we will see several pictures of scantily clad women in bikinis running all over the place. In which case you really may have several resumes on Monday morning.

You are a smart man bjarne. I did a similar favor for an employer seeking help here (by generating interest in the thread)

and all he did was get pissed and never even thanked me :-).

I'll see what I can find on the beach in the morning, I'm sure it will wet someones appetite.

As for the other thread, you have a good memory and a warped sense of humour, we should get together sometime.

The generation of interest was purely coincidental by the way, but so far it's been fun.

night all

Just to join in criticizing the obvious, wouldn't women in bikinis be, by definition, scantily clad, making "scantily clad" unnecessary?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

bah.. i didn't even think to check the profile, but, like someone said, i don't beliee half the stuff I see on the internet, anyway... People seem to have bigger egos, and exaggerate their experiences, anyway- it's called 'epeen', like as in "my electronic penis, my epeen, is bigger than yours"... LOL

Hmmm...Cayman Islands... Interesting

I'm deathly afraid of the water, so SCUBA is out...
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Damn,

Not that I'm that unhappy having a wife and kids and a business that is semi successful but if I were single and it was about 8 years ago I'd be beating down your door. I haven't even seen a tropical beach or scuba'd since 1996. Instead I sit up here in Western Washington covered with mildew... I haven't seen a DRY crawlspace in while either.

Please don't let any of my installers see this thread or I may be a man down real quick.

Whenever I've added someone it seems that the hurt is on for a short period but you get to the point of organizing your workload around the extra body and soon it works itself out. You may find that your hire is permanent and not too much later you'll again be looking because both of you are putting in 80+ per week. Good luck in your search... you'll probably get a lot more replies than I got after posting here (location, location, location)

Well, I would be game to go anywhere where it will be warmer than here, i hate these cold artic winds we get here in winter which is now about to hit. mind you the plus side is we dont get snow in downtown Melbourne. And as im soon to be single again the women will be definatley a plus

on a different note, how is the surf in the fall / winter? do the hurricane swells come in nice and clean on occasion (before or after the storm, obviously), or does it blow out (like most conditions on the east coast).

i have standards, i would consider scantily clad bikini bottom only, no top.

ts- Sorry bud but strictly no show on the tops off scenario on this island, too religious to allow that sort of display. Not really thought about the surfing here I know a few guys that do, but mainly wind surfing and Jetski.

Mr Mod- wouldn't that be Antarctic winds, I'm originally from the Southern hemisphere but the other side of South America.

rhm9- Always welcome another installer on vacation so when the time comes drop me a line.

I like your website bjarne.
I worked in Grand Cayman for 1 year back in 1983.
I'll telephone you on Monday.
