Wow. CI's taking it on the chin for manufacturer's again. And we make how much $ per DirecTV receiver?

I shudder to think how many hours you lost on this cluster which the client won't want to pay for.

Yet another reason we just went back to component video distribution and will keep doing component video for what seems like a VERY long time.

I wonder what would happen if you took the component outputs and passed it through even a cheap Monoprice component to HDMI converter. We've used these before for Control4 GUI from the old controllers...

Brent is supposed to send me a prototype piece to troubleshoot with. Some really weird things were happening during our original session.

If anybody out there has a live HR24-500 with HBO they can part with temporarily to send to Brent it could prove helpful.
If not I will add one to my account but its worth asking.

Im really floored at DirecTVs answer to the problem.

I would love to read Jeff Boccaccio's writing, whatever it might be, inspired by this. I'd like to suppose what he might write.

I think we could guarantee that whatever it is, there will be no blame on an industry that foisted an unready technology on unready and apparently unwilling manufacturers so that the guys who pirate movies (all of whom use computers and never have a real-time video signal going to a monitor) can't copy using the HDMI signal.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

When will this end? I was hoping as time went on HDMI and all the copyright BS that came along with it would get easier over time.

Mr. Customer,

What would you like to change?
The TV, the Sat receiver or the channel?
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Very much real.
Recorded to file directly off of my phone.

I have an 65HX929 installed at a customer with a directv HR24, going through a pioneer elite sc65, I haven't seen any issues, been installed for several months. Is there anything I can test over there for you. I'll be there one day next week

Yes, HBO!
That is the exact TV and the HR24-500.
It has the issue even when directly connected so receiver is not important.

Looking forward to your reply.
