Last I heard the official fix from DTV is to connect via component video. Aren't you glad you played the game by their rules and talked your client into HDMI?
You are the third person I've heard this from.
That's just crazy.
For DirecTV to even imply this as the fix is unacceptable.

I believe the blame is on DTV, with a recent FW roll out.
As do I. I don't think they are having much luck delivering HBOs new roll out of HDCP encoded signal.
It seems to be an issue out there with many but not everyone is having it.

I spent the day this week with one of the AMX/Autopatch techs going over AMXs new DGX switchers. He said Sony TVs have been causing problems with authentication because they take so long to complete the hand shake process.
He did not get into the full details only that the Sonys were one of if the the worst offenders and they(AMX) were trying to work out exactly whet they need to do to fix the problem on their side.
This may be the case with older or lower end models but this set is lightning fast and as stated above authenticates every time. its in the Constant re-shake that something skips and again (Only on HBO)
Its 100% a DirecTV thing but I want to know what exactly is going on, why its going on and what they are doing to fix it.
Or at least that they are working on it and not just telling people to use a format that officially died in January and is not even available on most new equipment.
PS. Still no Brent! Did they give that guy a vacation or something?
