I'm putting together a system for a sportsbar, 6 tv's in one room, 6 in another, owner wants patrons to be able to listen to audio from tv's on each table (12 to 20 tables in each room)via wireless speakers. Also wants volume control and source selection (tv's 1-6)via wireless remote on each table (RF of course) I figured on using a multi-room audio system to control switching of audio (Russound 6.6) but I am going to need a idiot proof RF remote that will work in this application without interference from other remotes and speakers. HELP Thanks JAY

Your kidding right? How long do you think wireless remotes are going to stay where they are supposed to in that kind of situation? The simple answer is to tie them down... Well... Now you've got a wired remote.... DO a Keypad. Life will be much better and much cheaper. The Basic 6.6 keypad is what you need in this situation (Even though I whole hearted dissagree with putting a Russound in any kind of commecial enviroment) You could Probobly adapt this technology to suit your needs [Link: cardiotheater.com]Then put a good FM Radio on each table instead of wireless speakers....

Yes, as described this is a disaster waiting to happen. This needs to be designed to be beer proof and food proof - which means even a Russound keypad won't work (unless they make an outdoor one). There's a good reason commercial type keypads look like the ones in Impaqts link (they are spill proof). And you can't even begin to think about conventional wireless speakers (which barely work for a single pair) in this application.

Here's another question. What do you suppose is going to happen with 12 to 20 tables all listening to different TV's through *speakers* at their tables?! Don't suppose that might make for an unpleasant environment, do you? There's a good reason when you get on an airplane and everyone has an LCD screen at their seat that the ONLY way to hear the sound is through headphones.
Nevertheless, the idea of a bunch of drunken bar patrons trying to beat the shit out of each other because they're all irritated at each other for blasting different TV's through the speakers at their tables is entertaining.

The spl on a Friday night will likely rival the local drag strip, but the real fun will be the dueling remotes. 6 TVs controlled by 20 drunks with clickers? That's 3.33 drunks with remotes per TV. Unless this is a Zen bar, the number of fights per night is going to go up.

However, the original post said they just need to ability to control volume and which TV is providing the volume as I read it... Not the actual channel the TV's are on....

I was in a bar in Ogunquit Maine this spring called Vinnies. This was before high season for tourists.
My wife and I were at a table, and the bartender walked over with what looked like a cracker box with four push buttons on it, a volume control, a speaker...
The idea was, select which tv sound you wanted to have at your table.
Didn't catch the name of the product or who made it, although I looked.
Somebody want to take a road trip to Vinnies and get the hard scoop?
All the other problems mentioned certainly would be present here, of course.

No one here ever been to a Nascar Cafe?
This is just what they have in the bar area. Although here locally it's limited to four big screens that are preset to a specific channel. The patron can have a box the size of a napkin holder at the table which allows for selection of sound source, and volume control (at their box).
Of course, with the level of background noise in the room, these boxes are pretty dang useless, since the volume level on them has to be limited.

google wins again!
I was able to get as far as the Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce...Phone: (207) 646-2939.
I bet they will know the phone number for Vinnie's. And there is, of course, information.
