Ready to replace a 60" for a client and looking at going to 65". Me personally would go with a plasma but she wants LCD. So, what are you installing that you're liking and happy with?

best price vs. performance, Samsung UN65D8000. (good picture, sweet bezel)
best performance, Sony XBR65HX929. (local dimming, super dark blacks)

also consider the Sharp Elite PRO70X5FD, which i haven't seen, but heard/read great things about.

Unless they recently released one, the 65" is not available in the 7000, only 8000. If you client likes using all the online content on the TV, it comes with a QWERTY remote. It also comes with a pair of 3D glasses as well.

You're right.  The 7000 stops at the 60"  The 8000 comes in 65".

That fact helped me upsell a smaller TV. I had a client that wanted a 65", and he wanted a 46" for an exercise room. He wanted the series to match so we went with a UN46D8000 as well

I really like the bezel on the Samsung however the new single Gorilla glass panel on the Sony NX and XBR line is slick. The picture also looks great on top of the design.

The XBR65HX929 is currently in stock and much less than the big box stores @ your least fav disty! :)

Why?

I would still try to sell on Plasma unless you feel that an LED is the right choice.

That said, we've used the Samsung LED's. I did see a 55" Sony at fry's the other day that was easily the BEST LED picture quality I've seen and it was showing sports. Not sure what it was but I was impressed.

The Samsung 8000 refresh rate is 960hz as opposed to the standard 120/240...That's a nice selling point too.

I hate that gimicky crap. It's still a 240 panel.

Sony XBR!

I think I want one of the XBR Sony sets myself. The Gorilla Glass is awesome! I will throw a baseball at that!

Sony XBR!

the XBR is in the same boat. it refreshes at 240Hz, but it's marketed with the same 960 "yakety schmack" buzzwords as the Samsung.

Samsung: Clear Motion Rate of 960!!!!!
Sony: Motionflow XR 960!!!!

of course, neither will go so far as to put the Hz after the 960.
