I just got one of too. Small, square (about 3"x3"). While I was getting my Snipping tool up and running it fricken went away. I don't remember what it was for, but next time I'll take a pic with my camera phone as I think opening another program may make the ad go away (or time out). I guess I could have just hit Print Screen, but that didn't occur to me until it was too late.

Thank-you Brandon... based on that I have found the culprit - and it is in fact attached to Radio Shack ads that are NOT supposed to have popups. Can you believe it? I've had to ban Radio Shack! Radio Shack no longer exists in Canada, so those ads have never popped up. I really get pissed that Tribal Fusion doesn't have tight enough controls on their advertisers that something like this slips by every few months. But the thing is, they're one of the more reputable ad agencies for publishers and *usually* have higher quality ads.

Yeap, that was it. Glad you found it Daniel. I would hate for you to spend 3 more hours looking for this crap.

Keep getting this popup on my iPad, especially when I go back to the list of threads rather than in one, although it pops up in some threads as well. It only appears when on RC: It bounces the page up and down and settles on the bottom.

What's a popup? I haven't seen one in so long I forgot what they look like.

I f'n hate banner ads, since I am rebuilding my PC and have to browse using my Ipad2 this same ad has come into my realm while here at RC. What is the ad server this POS belongs to so I can try to block it with my Opendns account?
I'm sure using Firefox with Noscript and adblock plus and Donottrack would solve this on my PC.

I need to know what the ad is on the top of the screen in order to track it down.
I should also point out that Remote Central is funded by banner ads (not pop-ups of course), so if you block ads you are removing the only way I have to keep this site running.

The ad company is arguing with me, saying they're not serving any pop-ups. I'm arguing that they ARE, but only to iPad/iPhone devices.
For now I've just disabled anything from "Student Advisor". Has anyone seen the Grid 2 ad pictured earlier lately?

Yeah, but I don't think it's attached to that. This is a different situation - I find these ads listed in the management interface (but they show as blank unless I change the browser's agent to the iPhone), so I think these are a new form of "legitimate" pop-ups that no one on their end is yet acknowledging as being served, and not the devious pop-ups attached to another unrelated ad that slip through now and again.
Doesn't make it any better that they aren't being classified correctly. I'm working on it.
