this makes no sense whatsoever.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Attach 2 IR Led to my smartphone, play the wav, and they'll blink.

Are you trying to turn your phone into a remote? How are you attaching IR LEDs to the phone?
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

First you said you wanted the "blinking" IR LEDs to play the WAV file.

Then you said you wanted the playing of the WAV file to cause the IR LEDs to blink.

Are you just attempting to make a visual notification that the WAV file is playing? If so, then you don't need "IR" LEDs, just plain LEDs.

Actually, I don't think any of us really understand what it is you are trying to do and/or accomplish!

You need to look at global cache or bitwise.

i think i understand. the desire is to convert an IR code to a wav file such that when the wave file is output through the headphones jack to the IR LED, the IR LED will convert the electric signal to the correct IR signal. assuming the voltage/current was correct, this would be a way to hack a smartphone and turn it into an IR controller without additional hardware.

that said, i have no idea how to accomplish this.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

This sounds unlikely.

IR commands are modulated 38 kHz (ish) signals. If your phone could reproduce audio to, say ,10 kHz, which is WAY above what a phone needs to output, this is two octaves above that.

Second, LEDs are driven by a voltage that has to be more than probably two volts. IF (and this is an if) your average cell phone speaker is an eight ohm speaker, that would represent about a half watt of power, again, unlikely.

I don't see how the phone can use its audio amp to output such a signal.

See why we want to know why you're trying to do this? We might be able to work out a great bit of software that would still not do what you want because the beginning assumption -- that a phone's audio output will turn on an LED -- is flawed.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The technical part is absolutely ok, I've tested it, I created a wav manually an it worked. I can get 5V from the iPhone's jack plug for examle. The sound card can produce a 22kHz signal, and you can double it if you use two IR Leds. Thats why I can't simply record it, I cant record 38kHz even with my PC's sound card.

EXPLAIN WHY YOU WANT TO DO THIS!!!! If we know why we might be able to help you.

No one understands what you are trying to do, because what you are trying to do MAKES NO SENSE!
You do understand that IR (Infra Red) LEDs are NOT visible, its infrared (i.e. below the visible red spectrum). So if you are trying to get LEDs to blink to music off your phone (for bling???), wrong LEDs (unless you have stated the wrong LEDs you are using).
If you are trying to control something IR with the IR LEDs off your phone. The whole blink with music still doesn't make sense.

If you want to use your phone as a remote there are much better ways of doing this. If you are into making science projects then please continue.
