The technical part is absolutely ok, I've tested it, I created a wav manually an it worked. I can get 5V from the iPhone's jack plug for examle. The sound card can produce a 22kHz signal, and you can double it if you use two IR Leds. Thats why I can't simply record it, I cant record 38kHz even with my PC's sound card.
