Hi Folks,

We now have two installs that I can't get the Denon ASD-11R docks to operate properly with iPod Touch's. Here are the specifics:

AVR-2311ci
ASD-11R dock
iPod Touch ver. 4.2.1
TV OUT Widescreen is turned ON under Settings.

hdmi from AVR monitor out to LG LCD TV.

Problem: Message on TV says "Loading" and it just sits there.

Older iPods and iPhones work fine.

I fired off an email to Denon support but haven't heard anything.

Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Ed

Ed,

The ASD-11R doesn't support the newest touch.

Matt, isn't there a compatibility chart posted on the Denon CI site?

I've had nothing but trouble with Denon iPod docks period... whether it's an issue with iPod model compatibility, or GUI support... or whatever else.

On the other hand, I really dig the newer receivers that just allow you to plug an iPod into the USB port on the front of the unit. Reduces the probability of selling and making money off of a dock, but hey, it works.

+1 on this especially the ASD11 as a stand alone - I have not had too much trouble with the 31 and 51 when connected to Denon AVR.  We have been looking for a reliable and inexspensive (not always mutually exclusive terms) iPod dock that charges.

We recently used an Onkyo DSA3 as a stand alone.  It does have an onscreen display if you want to use it but it has worked well all by itself.

It's even on the regular Denon site.

I found a simple solution and the dock works. The problem is with the plastic housing and the circuit board in that the male dock for the ipod is not engaging. If you take the board out and plug everything in you will see it works. The trick is to shave a few millimeters of plastic off the housing where the connector to the ipod goes through so the ipod can push down on the connector and it all works. I can't take full credit for this I read it on one other blog and can't believe it waas this simple.
