Howdy All. While searching for bitwise template options, I stumbled across these guys www.pushcontrols.com.au , these are the best user interfaces I have seen, hands down. Has anyone had any experience with this company?

No Shill here. Was just curious. Side note, I have since found out that Push Controls dont sell their templates! You need to buy the whole system off them, which is essentially a rebadged Bitwise Box. If you buy the box from them, they will give you access to their templates which they claim will only work on their box. I am no tech buff, but surely there is a way that you can use these designs on a standard issue Bitwise. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have no experience with Bitwise yet, but am going to a training session on Thursday. Looking forward to it. From what I've read, its a great system.

I hear they are going to add HAI control, when that happens I will jump on the bitwise bandwagon compleat control of all av and a home automation through a iphone / ipad with custome screens. This will increase sales. To bad it only does ipad and iphone.

Hai control is the exact option i have been looking for, shouldn't be terrible due to the fact both companies share the same hardware. Any word if they will support both I/p and rs-232 or just I/p integration?

First, this is just a guess but, I believe it will likely be IP. Since Bitwise can only open a socket at a time, that will mean you would need additional BC4Xs for other devices that you wanted to control via IP but, that's not so bad. As for HAI, you can currently control HAI in a one way fashion. It works and works well. HAI can trigger macros in the BC4X and the BC4X can execute commands via the HAI panel. However, there is not yet any graphical feedback. That is what they're working on. As for it being easy because both companies share hardware, well, I'd suggest that has little to do with it. Bitwise is the OEM for HAI's piece and HAI is able to load code in their firmware that works with Bitwise's very simple API. HAI, on the other hand, uses a more difficult protocol and has a lot of asynchronous data going on. In other words, they are two very different animals. That doesn't mean it won't happen. Lance, Mark and the rest of the crew at Bitwise are a bunch of super sharp cookies. I for one am looking forward to it. Add HAI integration with, fingers crossed, Android and/or Linux support and I'll likely drop my current rig and run my own home entirely on it. Thery have the potential to be the first solid, elegant Linux (if not FLOSS) solution.

Im installing a few Omni LT Systems in condo's and am looking for a remote setup that could pull basic info. The Only company that seems to use a rs-232 driver for HAI is Crestron, I was hoping this would be another option.

I have been using one in my own home for a couple of weeks, now. I really like it. The programming is pretty straight-forward, it fast with the commands, the template package from Blackman Customs is fantastic and it hits a great price-point.

I had a customer over to demo a Sonos system and he instantly fell in love with the iPad/ Bitwise interface for the audio gear. I think this product is going to open a lot of doors for other business. As an aside, since I don't have an ethernet connection where my A/V gear is, I'm using both ports on my ZP90. One for the DirecTV box and the other for the Bitwise. Works perfectly!

We have multiple sports bar implementations of HDMI over IP using Bitwise and iPad as the control system. One of the larger ones is the Toby Keith's "I love this bar and grill" in Denver. There we have 13 sources and 56 screens. Send me a PM if you want to know more about this.

I don't remember the part number as I don't use it. It is HAI's box used for IR controls.

I have a question regarding the IR database. I was just doing a "test" program of a system. I haven't purchased the BC4X yet, so right now just learning the software. The IR database will take some getting used to. It is not broken down by model numbers, just brand. I also went through a bunch of the typical equipment I install, and did not see many Discreet power commands. So I am wondering if the library will retain learned commands or would I have to learn discreet commands on each install. Since I don't have the ability to learn commands yet, I am not sure. I still haven't gone through all the training videos. so I apologize if this is covered in some of them.
