I did my program in via tools and then transfered it to the Via. The buttons are not filled in. There are spots missing in the borders of every button. It looks like there is a problem with the panel, but while I download a new program it displays the VIA screen perfectly. The defalt program that came in the touchpanel also looked normal. I have updated the firmware of the panel and the learner. Is there some setting that may be causing this?

Are you using Windows XP? There are some settings that need to be set a certain way for the download to display correctly [Link: elanhomesystems.com] using XP.

I also am having the same issue when uploading via files to the via. I have called tech support and set all the setting right on my laptop. The response I got from tech support was "If you figure it out, let us know." Any help on this problem would be apreciated.

Thanks

Again, what version ViA Tools are you using! Also does it happen on any Via you download to. try downloading to another Via. Give me more information and maybe I can help you. Go to file/export and attach the file to an e-mail to me.

I am not a Elan dealer but do recall having the same problem early in my learning curve.

If I remember correctly, I had changed the font. But went back and selected one with a TT (True Type) in front of it and the problem was corrected.
Via tools 4.1 is running on Windows XP Home Laptop.

Let me know if that was the problem. If it was, then chalk one up for the DYIer! And next time I ask a stupid question, be nice. If it wasn't, then as you where.

There are a couple of things it could be. Elan has four solutions listed for the typface issue. These should clear up font related issues where only the text is smeared. If you are talking about the bitmaps themselves being smeared, that is different. Elan does not endorse custom graphics on the Via! touchpanels yet even though it has been possible for some time. If your problem is custom graphic related, then Elan most likely wont offer any support. If you are an Elan dealer, the article is on the dealer site under Via! tech bulletins. If you are not a dealer, let me know an I'll see if I can help you with it.
