Radiorhea,
The RTI T2 software makes this easy:
1)Create a button
2)Edit a Macro on the new button.
3)From the "Command Type" box in the Macro Editor select RS232.
4)For BAUD rate choose 9600
5)For PARITY choose NONE
6)For DATA BITS choose 8
7)For STOP BITS choose 1
8)For IRF-6 port choose the port you are going to connect the RTI CM-232 module (and then connect to the Krell).
9)In the STRING section type in the RS-232 command from the Krell Developers manual for the Showcase. You can download that here:
[Link: krellonline.com]For example, if you want the volume set to 100, type in 100MVLZ
If you want the input to go to CD, type in CDZ
10) Once your string is typed in, drag the ICON below the string to the macro list.
The T2 software is a wonderfully straightforward approach to programming one way RS-232 control of a component like the Krell.
Krell offer excellent automation support via an extensive list of RS232 codes for all of their processors. In addition, with more advanced automation systems like CoreAccess, Crestron and AMX, you can query the status of the unit and display current input, mode, level etc information on your touchscreen or use the information to create intelligent action on the part of the controller.
If you have any questions about programming this, give me a call.
Best Regards,
-Eric
