I assume the only local source is the Blu-ray Player, it wouldnt make sense to have the others local. And i assume he's just using an HDMI Balun to send video to the rack Reread it. Comcast, AppleTV, one has a DVD.

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

These are some of my favorite installs. This is what separates us from the rest. Awesome job man. I think these can be more rewarding than the regular everyday stuff. We have recently got into doing our own brick removal. I think we have mastered it. Customer has a brick fire place. We still get a tv on the wall and a custom plate recessed in the brick like it was brand new. I used to sub it out until I learned how to do it. Great job man! Thanks. I've been rocking the brick fireplace installs for years. As far as I know, we're the only ones in the area doing installs like that. Our hardest one was the last pic. I posted. The wall was entirely brick, all the way ot the corners, room on a slab. Woodburning fireplace, and the length of the fish was about 8'. Wasn't easy, but it turned out awesome. Unfortunately the pic, doesn't do it justice. And NO, I didn't recommend the TV in the first picture. Customer already purchased. It has less than 1/2 inch gap from mantel to ceiling. We had to completely extend the tilt brackets out, and then push it back to the wall, just to get the damn thing on the wall. What a Moron.

Changed the oil in my van, 3800 miles over of when i was supposed to of changed it. Lets hope Mobil One is truly long lasting, i usually try to change it every 5,000 miles but this one got away from me. It has also been 13 months since my last oil change, Not a single drop of oil burned!
Sent off a proposal for one of the largest jobs since ive been in business, really hoping I get it would really put me in the "next catigory"
Also, cut a Wicked deal on a small office closer to my house. I Will sign the lease in 2 months when the current tenant moves out! My current one is just to far, haven't been back there in close to 3 weeks. I Will have an area for a very tiny showroom, planing on putting a 60" framed TV with a Media Decor frame and a LEON "certified" sound package! Im really excited, great location and im pretty much stealing the place from the owner! :)
Crazy to think that just a year ago I was so close to closing shop and moving on and a few of you guys helped "save me" You know who you are, I owe you a few beers or more! :) Congratulations on the new place. I hope it works out well fir you.

Then again, what are the open shelfs in the rack for? hopefully he responds,im curious now! Apologies, I was typing fast and perhaps not being as accurate as I should be. The only local component is a BD (in a cabinet in the media room), connected via HDMI balun. All other equipment is located in the rack. Blank shelves are for cable boxes, some of which we will split to 2 rooms (eg. single box for media room and master bed). I hope this clears things up! 3Pedal: I'm interested in photos of your showroom as we are 6 months into a long remodel of ours. I am especially interested in how you feel about your Media Decor demo and if you are selling them often enough to justify the demo expense. Regards,

Regards, FWIW, we didn't do a long remodel of ours, but we built a custom solution L wall, showing Stealth speakers (sub+sat), a picture roll TV, a mirror TV, and a wall for a larger TV with Cambridge Audio Minx micro-sat speakers. In our meeting room we have a pair of in-ceiling speakers, a touchpanel that sits on the desk tethered by a CAT5 cable (PoE is lovely), and a TV in a popup cabinet. In that one room we can pretty much show all of our audio/video solutions without getting up from the meeting (the room has lighting control for lamps and potlights too). Then we have the "solution wall" to show a few other hidden technology concepts. That really is just about as much as I think you have to show. I feel very strongly that you do not need a LARGE showroom to show a dizzying array of options. You will do much better by having a clean professional space for meetings, that allows you to demonstrate some basic concepts of what we do, along with some neat (high profit) aesthetic driven concepts. You have to sell to both sides of the equation. The first meeting we had in the new meeting room after reshuffling things, I had a popup cabinet sold into the job within 5 minutes. Then we started discussing other things. :)

Working on the outdoor sound for a remodel today. As SuperBowl is coming up customer asked that we retrofit wiring and speakers around a large deck. It needs to play Sonos, but allow sound from cable box with remote control for volume and channel for portable outdoor movie set up. To do this we installed a Niles 12volt controlled line level AB to allow switching between Sonos Connect and Zone 2 out of a Denon AV - works great!! First we installed 4 total (2 each side of deck) OneSystems speakers. These are awesome outdoor speakers, mil-spec build quality, horn loaded tweeter, just great. If you're using Control series, seriously look at these. Mounted to custom cut 2" square fence post with wires fished inside as shown. I really like how the plug in jack for the projector and speakers (another pair of OneSystems that will go directly left and right of the screen) turned out. To provide the best plug-in, plug-out reliability we are using a passive component balun and a 4 pole Speakon connector for both speakers. Ordered from PanelCrafters with custom engraving. Rack is in the kid's playroom closet:

My day... go in early and work a 12 hour day without eating... after my first 'paid' sick day ever; spent recouping from food poisoning and having not eaten for 60+ hours?!? You know, just another day in the life of a CI For all you out there...be safe and healthy! On the plus side, my brewery is doing well and I got to top my day with my favorite sandwich there. And we finally have the Savant system up and running in the private rooms so they are ready for the excitement on Sunday. If you're ever up the in Seattle its on the eastside in Bellevue about a half mile from our showroom (its called the Bellevue Brewing Company - http://www.bellevuebrewing.com/).

Bryan is my coworker, and helped put together an amazing high-end watering hole about five minutes from the main Microsoft campus and about three minutes from our offices / showroom. He did a hell of a job, and the food and brew are amazing. OK Bryan, after that plug, You owe me a dinner and brew!

I Hung the first pieces of drywall in the addition in the guest bedrom adjacent to the theater, Pretty exciting day! I need to update my build thread, Found out that we had a holmes on holmes special, we were a good snowstorm away from having the roof collapse in on the addition, all this time has been spent re structuring the addition which means the theater got completely re designed.
